Tips to get baby out

I'm 39 weeks and have hit a wall I want baby out NOW!

Iv bounced on a ball, eating pineapple, hot curry for the last 3 nights, sex is on the cards later any other tips/suggestions?

Fair play to you. I remember the midwife saying "how ya get them in is how you get them out" and the thoughts of it at the time!!!

I went for a sweep yesterday, cervix is open one end and shut the other. Midwife suggested I keep bouncing on the ball, long walks and being on my hands and knees cleaning the kitchen floor haha. It's all about getting baby as low as possible and opening your pelvis as much as you can. I'm booked in for an induction on Sunday so going to be as active as I can between not and then x

No idea, but I felt like that a few weeks ago. The last week I made sure I walked every day some up hill, did some gardening, cleaned house, bounced on ball. No idea if anything helped but baby was born on due date

Scrub the skirting boards (ours are only done if I am over 40 weeks pregnant), express some colostrum, book something you really want to do (last one is tricky at the moment I know).

DD was 2 weeks early and was born the day after I’d gone with DS and a friend and her kids to an activity farm and did mad things like crawling through plastic tubes and climbing trees and going on a bouncy castle. My friend had 3 kids and quite understood why I did all these things. It may have been coincidence of course.

Nothing works! I tried everything, and all it did was make me more frustrated and impatient!
I did however have a sweep on the day I went into labour, so whether that helped or was a co oncidence who knows.

My first sweep I walked for about 3 hours after and bounced on my ball all evening, had cramping but nothing happened.

My 2nd sweep I went at 40+5 and they told me I was still only 1cm dilated. I went home, sobbed for a good 2 hours after and then napped all afternoon on the sofa. I did none of the 'keeping active' that they recommend. Went into labour that night

First baby? IIRC, the average gestation for the first baby is 40+5.

At 39 weeks my advice would be to try to be patient and keep yourself busy / distracted - not easy during lockdown I know!

None of the methods for bringing on labour will work if baby isn't actually ready to come out.

However, if you get past your due date and you're starting to feel desperate, sex definitely helps (there's evidence for it) and you could also try acupuncture (if it's possible to see one atm). Sometimes an osteopath can help to get baby in the right position, but they can't speed things along.

FWIW I got to 41 weeks and wanted to avoid induction so I tried acupuncture (at 41+2) and sex (at 41+3), no idea if the acupuncture helped prepare but the sex did the trick and DS was born less than 12 hours later (at 41+4).

I doubt very much it would have worked at 39 weeks though.

Sex and nipple stimulation/express colostrum. Keep it in syringes for when baby arrives x

I feel you OP! 39+4 here had a sweep last Thursday...nothing even though everything was favourable.
Due date is sunday i think shes holding on till then
