Is this it?! Have my waters broken?

38+2 weeks today!

I've just had a bath, dried myself off went to start putting clean pjs on, felt a weird sensation and water just started trickling down my leg.

It's wasn't tonnes but as I got to the loo, a little bit more came out. It's clear and doesn't have a smell. There's no blood or anything when I wipe. Is that my waters leaking? I'm going to ring the hospital but I'm super nervous now! And my other half is working today...bloody Sod's law!!!

Ooh it could be! I'm a FTM so can't advise but I'm excited for you Smile I'm 37 weeks tomorrow so will be watching this thread! They do say to put a maternity pad on for them to test so maybe do that? Good luck Grin x

Pad is on hahaha god, we knew he'd be impatient and come early...had signs for weeks 🙈 just wish I hadn't packed DP off to work this morning...he's not far but I worry about him driving home as he'll be a bag of nerves! I'll keep you posted!

If it’s after a bath, it could just be bath water. You know, the ’afterbath’.

This sounds very similar to when my waters went at 37w. Didn't experience the 'gush' but instead the constant trickle and it continued this way over 2/3 days! I soaked through numerous pairs of bottoms even wearing humungous pads couldn't cope with the sheer volume of water.

Sounds like it could well be the start of things. Exciting times for you. Best of luck and congratulations.

Maybe. Sometimes you can sort of hold water in your vagina during a bath but usually it’s just a one off of the liquid coming out.

If you sit down for a few minutes and then stand hi again, do you leak at all?

I’d pop a pad in your knickers and keep an eye on it. Ring your hospital as well, as they will want to check so you can be induced if they have gone and you don’t go into labour.

My waters have gone twice and neither time was like the movies make out! Hindwaters are much more subtle than your forewaters.

It was too much for bath water...that was my first thought Blush more kept coming when I waddled my way to the bathroom. There's a definite damp patch on the bedroom carpet where it started 🙈

I was 15 when my brother was born and I remember my mums waters breaking...that went absolutely everywhere but she did have the trickle about 12 hours before.

When mine went it was like this - no gush just trickling. I actually had gone for a wee and it just 'carried on'. Mine did have meconium in it so it was quite obvious it was my waters not just an unusually long wee right from the beginning! I had to be induced though as contractions didn't start naturally (and because of the meconium).

Congratulations and good luck!! x

Just back from the hospital...false alarm :(

I don't know whether to be mortified or find it hilarious that's it's highly likely I've wet myself without even realising that was what was happening 🙈
