So for the last three days I have had loose bowels and two days ago I was nesting like I was going to give birth to a squad haha. Repainted and cleaned like a mad woman! Yesterday I was run off my feet felt like I had been hit by a bus so slept from 7pm last night till about 4am where I woke up with an achey back. All day today I have had a mixture of light period pains, back ache and shooting pains on the inside of my thighs.

TMI Blush but have been feeling really wet below but no obvious waters breaking or show that I know of.. I did a bad do and felt my cervix and it's so soft and open. Has anyone had experience like mine? I'm 37 weeks and first baby

Thanks in advance

Sometimes waters can trickle rather than gush. Perhaps it’s worth a chat with your midwife unit/assessment unit

At 37 weeks it’s most likely that things are starting to happen in preparation for labor.
This stage can last for a few days or a few weeks, try not to over do things, save some energy.

I had a show and pains at 37 weeks and ds was born at 38weeks ( 4 days early)

starly you could be but it could just be your body getting ready. I had similar feelings and I had a planned c section booked as the baby was sideways.

Fingers crossed. Take it easy in the storm if you are in labour.

Good luck FlowersSmile

Hi @mustangcanwait
Pains got worse so ended up going to the ward at 3am this morning also as was concerned with reduced movement. I have been totally cool up till now but seem to be really anxious at little things. Baby has engaged head down in my cervix and is lying awkwardly which is giving me the shooting pains and back pain. Baby is OK - I have a growth scan on Wednesday as his growth has slowed over last two scans (being scanned a lot due to high risk IVF baby)

they said that they will discuss induction on Wednesday so that is where I am... just taking paracetamol when I really need to and going to relax and stop doing chores like a mad woman!!!

Xx

I'm glad baby is OK, I feel like I'm in a very similar situation to you, have been getting period pains and back ache the past few days but nothing more. Midwife has told me baby is in the optimal position for labour but she's not engaged yet which is a pain. I also have a growth scan on Wednesday so will be thinking of you. Hopefully you won't get as far as needing an induction and your little one will be with you soon!

Yeah my midwife said that all these pains are normal for third trimester and only to be alarmed is movement changes. If you think about it I suppose all our bones softening and baby getting bigger we would ache it's just putting up with it!

I had shooting pains when baby started to engage so it's deffo an anxious time where we worry about everything. How exciting eh is this your first? X
