Could labour be round the corner?

DC1 arrived naturally at 37+4. Waters went 35 hours before he arrived and first 14 hours after waters went there was nothing happening.

Today at 37+3 with DC2. Since yesterday Braxton Hicks have completely changed and become painful. In the sense that was having lunch with a friend and had to double over my coffee and stop talking for 1 minute. But said Braxton Hicks only coming every 2 hours or so. Early this morning have woken up with what can only be described as PMS pain. Aching thighs, lower back and lower tummy. Real feeling of “period is coming” “where are my sanpro?” - v v v familiar monthly feeling. Have had a paracetamol now as ache significant.

Is this labour ish signs you think? My comparison point is a PROM rupture of water with nothing painful for 14 hours and then mega proper contractions in hospital so this feels very strange and unknown although yes it’s DC2.

Any wise thoughts?

It could be but I've been like this since 32 weeks painfull BH and the rest I'm now 37+2 and still no signs.
Keep an eye on the pains and of course if they get closer together get timing them. Maybe have a warm shower or bath see if it helps ease too. Baby may of moved down.

Thanks. Baby was 4/5 intonpelvis last week having moved down from 2/5 to 3/5 to now 4/5. Midwife got me to palpate the head to show me how low head is. Also had to have a growth scan which showed the same. Intense intense cramping right now. In sofa with paracetamol and trying to breathe. At the minute cramping is like period Day 1

Ooh sounds like a good sign.. If paracetamol and lying down isn't shifting it then it does sound promising :)
