Had emcs was my third! (Not sure if makes difference) Friday night! Had bad time took 2 hours then bled threw wound and was nearly took back to theatre but they managed to stop! Ok so my question, il now at home dressing off and all looks lovely! (As lovely as a wound can!) but underneath on my vagina it's black and blue (more so purple) and very very swollen down to my vagina opening!
Is this normal ? Anybody experienced this??? See midwife tonorow so will wake her but wondered if anyone had this I can't remeber with my others x

Gravity pulls the blood from the surgery into a different location than just the actual surgical site.
Some amount of bruising is normal, yours just pooled towards your bottom, usually it’s the sides.
Just keep an eye on it, decreased swelling and colour fading etc.
Let your mw or dr know.

How is a wound 'thrown'? I suppose that is what has caused the bruising and swelling down below, it moved.

I expect it will clear up in a few days like any bruising and swelling.

Hope you feel better soon.
