How did you feel before labour

I'm sorry I know this has been done before but just wanted to ask how people generally felt before they went into labour? It's my second but I can't remember with my first. I woke up in the night with contractions but can't remember if I had felt any differently leading up to it.

So did you feel completely normal and suddenly contractions started/waters broke, did you feel like you knew something was going to happen? Did your body feel different?

Currently 40 weeks and don't feel any different at all so keep thinking its not going to happen any time soon

I'm 35 weeks with my third at the moment, curious to see the replies as with my first pregnancy I went into labour naturally and had absolutely no warning whatsoever. Was just chatting away to my sister who had popped round and fairly strong and obvious contractions started right off the bat. No show, no noticable braxton hicks or any emotional sign either.

With my son I was induced so again didn't get any pre warnings to labour. This time I'd love to have some inkling!

To be honest I just felt totally normal!

The two days before my waters went I was veeeeery sensitive and emotional, and had little period pains that followed a very vague rhythm. I cried over the most ridiculous of things but we didn't really put two and two together until after labour started and then we realised why I had been quite so fragile Grin

@CloudyVanilla that makes me feel a bit better knowing that it could come from nowhere, I don't what what I'm expecting but because I don't really feel any different I keep thinking I can't possibly go into labour any time soon.

I've been having period type pains every evening this week and each time it happens it makes me think that it's the start but then it goes away again as quickly as it started

I felt normal. was admitted night before with bleeding but they weren't sure why. Was told I had weeks to go. My waters went which was a big surprise and contractions started then. 2.5 hours later I had a baby!

I felt normal. Woke up on a Saturday morning about 9am and had that dull ache you get the day before you start your period. By 2pm those period pains turned into contractions and kicked into labour

Oh I hate those period cramps, they do get your hopes up - I'm also having period cramps each evening and I'm only 35 weeks so very unlikely to be anywhere near labour :(

I did have a sweep at 39 weeks with my second and lost my plug the same day but was still induced a week later. Got so excited reading people saying they went into labour a few hours later or the next day or something! The last couple of weeks are such a pain, I sympathise Flowers

Felt completely normal (if that is possible at 9 months) and BAM. Waters broke. All 3 times.

Never found a 'plug' any of the times.

I felt normal also. I was 11 days overdue and have resigned myself to being pregnant forever. Had mild period type pains on the evening before I went into labour which stopped when I went to bed and restarted at 6am the next morning and gradually got stronger.

Content I think. Very much looking forward to giving birth which I did five days early so that was a nice surprise.

Felt pretty good all day, got my hair cut and walked around feeling fine. I was scheduled to have a section nine days later at 38 weeks due to size of baby, but that night got up to head for bed when my waters broke. No contractions or anything.

Every time a type of restlessness in the 12 hours before labour - couldn’t settle to anything kept starting different things etc etc

Flowers to those with BH I had SEVEN weeks with my second where 5/7 nights my sleep was disturbed by “practice labour” Angry & the little bugger was massively overdue!

I was out shopping with my mum, I had to leave the shop as I just felt weird.

Once home I felt fine, that night in bed I got up for a wee about 10 mins after lying down and my waters broke as I entered the bathroom, I said my hubbys' name and he straight away said " your waters have broken" ...... And we were off !!!!
