Honestly? Nothing you can do will speed it up. Unless they’re artificially induced out of you they come when they’re ready.

I was induced with ds1 and ds3 and ds2 was born without being induced but I went into labour on the morning I was meant to be induced. It was fine, really.

Witnessing a car accident and eating a lamb vindaloo did it for me. Booked for induction at 40 weeks, ds arrived under his own steam at 39+6 Smile.

Gym ball exercises to try and bring the head into the correct position.

I know people all say bad things about induction but I actually preferred it to my natural labour. It felt more controlled so less panicked, the nurses could check how far gone I was so there was less panic and I could get pain relief whenever I needed it. It was faster than my natural labour aswell.

Good luck.

Firstly: why? Do you know why you are booked for induction at 40 weeks?

Ask the questions- you don’t ‘have’ to consent to anything being done to you.

When it comes to -your case:

What are the benefits for induction at 499 weeks?
What are the risks for you for induction at 40 weeks?
What happens if you do ‘nothing’ at 40 weeks?
What happens if you take it day by day? Maybe at 49 weeks there’s no indication of any problems, and you feel ok- so - ‘ no thank you’ to Induction at 40 weeks. Maybe tomorrow you’ll feel different?

Should add, I also had 14 days to get things going naturally. I had 2 sweeps in that time and the doctor told me to have plenty of "long walks, hot baths and not sex". But it didn't work

It's a high risk pregnancy due to my health (sepsis) during pregnancy. Baby wasnt growing but since I've been better his definitely caught back up with growth they consultant doesnt want me to go past due date at all. My community midwife thinks he will be here before 2 weeks is up. I've had a mucus show sorry tmi! A good bowel clear out yesterday his very low in to my pelvis now. How ever I haven't much faith and do believe il be struggling through the next 14 days lol

I did nipple stimulation and had an orgasm. Next day ds was born. Probably a coincidence but worth a try.

I knew a few people who swore by massages. My sister went for one and the lady asked her if she was due & if so was she wanting things speeded up or no, my sis said speed up please.... Baby arrived that afternoon.

I had a sweep that worked well.

Another mate of mine swears by eating a whole pineapple.

Sex & hand expressing colostrum also meant to help.

All kind old wives ones but hey.

I had two natural labour's and one induced. I was 16 days late! Nothing budged her. It honestly isn't that bad. I had my waters broken and the drip with gas and air. I think I preferred induction because I knew it was happening so no more waiting!!
