Cost of elective c section?

Considering going private for a c-section, but prices vary so wildly and I'm struggling to get concrete answers that are more recent than 2007.

Looking at the Liverpool Women's Hospital.

I'd be interested to know prices at other hospitals, too!

Hi

Sorry this might not be any help but have you tried speaking with the private patient team at the hospital of choice and asking for a quote? :) x

You need to ask each hospital. Bear in mind that a consultant will have to pay £2-3,000 insurance per birth, so the first £2-3k goes straight to the insurance company and they only start to be paid after that.

Can you get a private section at LWH? I couldn't find private sections in the north west (though it was 2 years ago when I looked). At that time prices (in the south which was my only option) prices varied wildly from £8-£20k hospital dependent, though the £8k quotes often didn't include necessary things. I think £12 was the average.

I’ve just enquired about having one privately at my local hospital and it’s around £11,500, including 2 nights in a private room. That’s booking in at 35 weeks - it would be more if you booked earlier as you’d get more antenatal care.

I'm budgeting around £15k in London
