Yes you can. Have not been in your position, but I can imagine I would be frightened too. Just think, you'll get to meet your lovely little baby tomorrow. Good luck x

Can understand your nervousness. I would be too. What exactly is it you are nervous about?

i had one in may. scar healed quickly, only a bit of overhanging tummy left , and am now ready to start spinning again... AND its not as scary as protracted childbirth . good luck and make use of that red button in hospital as often as you like - people will appear to do your bidding!

I was dreading it, but it turned out to be absolutely fine. I hardly felt the needle going in, just a bit of pressure.

The op was surreal and actually quite funny -lots of banter between dh, surgeon, nurses etc.

The overriding feeling at the time it was going on was impatience - just wanted to see dd.

Recovery after the cs was fine - not pleasant getting out of bed the first time due to aching and stiffness but it got much easier very quickly. My scar healed well and quickly.

The worst part afterwards was honestly having the catheter removed, which took all of two seconds and was more uncomfortable than painful.

All of that just paled into insignificance though as I had beautiful new DD to moon over!

you can ask for certain things to be done

eg have baby wrapped in one of your own blankets

not washed immediately, but brought to you for skin to skin

for you to discover the sex, if you don;t know it already

to have your own music playing

to have the screen lowered so you can see the baby be born

things like that....

Liesel, I had a planned section and it was totally fine. A lovely and, surprisingly, quick experience. They reallyt will try to make it a good one for you !

Good Luck and let us know how you got on.

Iiiiiiiiiiii.... just think tomorrow you'll be having a wee baby and you will be able to sit down the same day, yay.
