Advice Please

I'm a little confused about my symptoms and google isn't telling me much so I'm looking for a bit of advice please. I don't know what might be relevant so I've tried to include it all just in case! Sorry in advance if it's a bit long.

I'm 33+2 with my first. He is measuring small (literally just within the 10th percentile) so I've been having regular growth scans - consultant isn't too concerned because he is still within the growth chart just a little small. I'm consultant led because I have a medical condition that although doesn't effect my pregnancy, they have decided to keep an eye on closely.

Last night (around 10pm) I got quite a strong pain quite low down .. it felt sort of like a combination of being kicked in the vagina and a period pain. It only lasted about 60 seconds. I went to sleep and then woke up about 2.45am with severe stomach ache (quite high up). It felt like I was getting an upset stomach as it made me feel very sick and uncomfortable. It again lasted around 60 seconds. A few minutes later it happened again. I managed to get back to sleep and have woken up this morning generally feeling okay and haven't yet had any more pains.

I've been having bad heart burn throughout my pregnancy but it seems to have ramped up this week. I have been having increased discharge (sorry TMI) and think I may have lost my mucus plug early this week.

The baby is moving around a lot still so no real concerns there.

Hopefully I've covered everything and thank you if you got to the end! Any advice would be very welcome. I'm not sure if this is the start of labour and I need to call the midwife or if the symptoms are just completely unrelated and I am just being a panicky first timer!

Thank you in advance!

Call the midwife. Probably nothing but I know someone who had similar symptoms and went into early labour.

Don't worry that you're wasting their time, you're carrying a baby and checking it's ok is a sensible thing to do. Most likely it's all fine but if not, you'll kick yourself for not checking.

@HoustonBess thank you so much for replying.

I called the midwife and they suspect Braxton Hicks but have asked me to keep an eye on any pains and to call back if they get more frequent or intense. I'm glad I called to check ☺️ it's so hard not to be a bit panicky when it's all so new!

Glad it's ok!

If you think about it, even if ten women call with things that aren't problems, that's still going to create less work overall than one woman worrying she's fussing and not getting something checked out and needing to go into hospital etc.

Don't feel bad about using healthcare that you're entitled to. They'll be sure to send you on your way if it's nothing.

Best of luck!
