Cervical Sweep Notes Help?

Cervix normal, 2cm long, soft, pp-3, fingertip os, sweep done.

Can anyone tell me a little more about the notes written here and how favourable this sweep was?

It's good that your cervix is soft. PP-3 means that the baby's head is still relatively high so I would do a lot of walking/sitting on a birthing ball to help it descend. I would hope that this sweep would help get your cervix more ready for a more effective sweep in a few days...

Thanks @Tinypause - all I know is that following the sweep I had a show and period pains, both of which have gone overnight with sleep... I've been told it can take 24-48 hours for anything to happen...

It's positive that you had the show and period pains! Often a first sweep can just prep the cervix for a more effective second sweep! Good luck!

Also fingertip os means the cervix was open enough to reach in with a finger tip. And sweep done is important too because sometimes it's not really possible to do a sweep if the cervix is more closed. All a midwife can do is massage around the outside of the cervix.
Although there was a way to go at the time of the sweep it sounds promising especially if you've been having some pains.

Notes don't mean nothing...mw tried to sweep me on the Monday n said unfortunately cervix hard and facing back. So, not favourable. Mw said she suspects nowt will happen until my (unwanted) induction date the following Friday. Baby was born by 10pm Tuesday :) cervix can change at the drop of a hat!
