If you had a caesarian due to a transverse lie baby when was your caesarian booked for?

I have consultant led care (UK NHS) due to my age, I'm 45, and baby has been transverse throughout which isn't a surprise because my previous DD was transverse and delivered by caesarian because of it. My consultant has emphasised how high risk a transverse baby is in last few weeks.

I've just received my caesarian date and it's the day before my due date. I'm really shocked because my previous DD was born at exactly 39 weeks due to being transverse and me being 43. I'm now almost 46 so older still and caesarian won't be until day before due date. I called the hospital and asked what do I do if my waters go or labour starts and I've been told to call an ambulance and get to hospital immediately for an emergency caesarian! Obviously baby can't be born naturally if it's transverse.

I'm really freaked out at my booked caesarian being so late.

Has anyone else had an ELCS due to a transverse lie? If so when was your ELCS booked for and did you make it to date?

Elective CS is booked as close to 40 weeks as possible, to reduce the chance of baby complications. You might be able to persuade the team to move to 39 weeks, ask them with regard to your previous history.
Any suggestion of labour, go straight to hospital.

Hi
My baby was transverse in my last pregnancy at age 44. At 36 week check it was noticed on the scan that the cord was underneath her so I was admitted for obvs and a C-section was booked for 36+5. She did turn to be head down so I was discharged and monitored weekly. She kept moving into transverse so eventually i was booked in for c section at 40+1.

Possibly slightly different because DS was an unstable lie and was moving around, although he was transverse most of the time. I was admitted onto the ante-natal ward at 38+2 and was booked for a CS at 39 weeks. Ended up having him at 39+2.
