Size "tiny baby" clothes

Those who have had babies who had to wear "tiny baby" clothes, how much did your babies weigh and when did they move into size newborn? Also did the wear size 0 nappies?

Being induced at 37 weeks and baby was estimated at 4lbs8oz at 35 weeks. Unsure if size 1 nappies and newborn nappies will be ok.

My DD was 37 weeks and 4lb 5oz. Definitely size zero nappies and tiny baby to start with.

By the time we left hospital, ds weighed 6 pounds 2 ounces and newborn stuff was massive on him. He was in tiny baby for about 3 to 4 weeks I think.

My DD was a week late and 8lb 4oz, she was still very small and needed 0 nappies. All her newborn baby grows also drowned her despite saying upto 7lb.

Definitely get tiny baby things and good luck

DD was 6lb 7oz and has only just stopped fitting into some of her tiny baby clothes despite weighing 9lb 4oz at 8 weeks yesterday!

I found some M&S newborn size to be quite slim fitting and fit better than some of the supposed tiny baby clothes we bought.

My DD was born at 40 weeks and 7lb 6oz - a lot of newborn stuff was way too big on her, tiny baby was much better so definitely go for that.

6.11, full term in tiny baby for at least 3 weeks possibly longer. Didn't find size 0 nappies so had many leaks!

DD1 was 6 weeks early and 5lb 4 - she was in tiny baby until she was at least the equivalent of term, maybe a little longer?

5lb 2oz, she was lost in the newborn clothes, think she moved to size1 nappies and 1-3 month clothes at about 4 months old. Even now at almost 3 she has just gone into 2-3 clothing.

DS was 6lbs 15oz and 53cm at 40+6, he needed tiny baby for the first 4 weeks but size 0 nappies were too short on the rise.

DD was 7lbs 2oz and 47cm at 39+5, she needed tiny baby for 6 weeks and size 0 nappies were fine until 3/4 weeks.

Just to be helpful, my DD was 8lb5 and newborn seemed to swamp her too! Bought a few tiny baby things that fit. She must have been all muscle unless someone was leaning on the scales...

My ds was 37 weeks 4lb 5oz size 0 nappies and even tiny baby size was huge! The est weight from scan 2 days before was 4lb 14oz,
If what you have is too big the hospital may be able to loan you clothes & give nappies until someone can do a shop run. We needed to borrow clothes ended up buying nexts 5lb size which was just right for awhile. Boots was also good for tiny clothes & nappies. Sorry i can't remember how long he was in them for - it did feel like a long time but i guess it all depends on how well baby grows?
Best wishes & good luck xx

DS born at 37 weeks weighing 5 pound 14. Dropped to 5 pound 7.

A friend gave me a bad of tiny baby clothes (mostly Asda and Tesco). He wore them for about two weeks then I had to put him in newborn baby gros as he has long legs. They swamped him everywhere else though. He wore newborn baby gros for quite a few weeks. Can't remember exactly.

You wouldn't think it to look at him now. Just turned six months and he's grown out of some of his 6-9 month clothes.

Oh I didn't actually know size 0 nappies existed Blush poor DS wore size 1s folded
down at the waist. No leaks though strangely enough even though they were like a bin bag on him

DS was 5lb 9oz at 35 weeks. He was in size 0 nappies for about 3 weeks. He was in early baby (John Lewis) then tiny baby and graduated to newborn when he was about 4 weeks old.

DD was 38+5 but an unexpectedly tiny 5lb 4oz. We weren’t expecting a small baby, I only had 0-3 clothes which swamped her! Did emergency trips for newborn stuff which she was in for all of 2 weeks before she was too long for them. Size 0 nappies fitted okay.

My DS (37+0) was 4lbs 7oz. Size 0 nappies and 4lb prem suits from Asda and Mothercare. Next 5lb suits too.

DD (35+6) was 5lbs exactly but seemed much more tiny than DS. Size 0 nappies and is only just in newborn now at 5 weeks old. Again tiny baby or prem suits from Mothercare
