Hi everyone, hoping for some advice on the most reasonable consultant fees at either the Lindo or Portland. Also considering doing midwife-led at Portland (but haven’t heard great things about their midwives?). So frustrating to have to contact every single one individually. Thanks for any help or insight you can offer!

Hi,
I can't speak for Lindo consultants but I have spoken to a few who work both at the Portland and UCLH (which is my hospital choice) and it's roughly starting from £3000 for delivery only (includes one meeting beforehand and checkup after) to £9000 for full antenatal care from early pregnancy until delivery and checkup after.

You can ring up each of the consultants office too and ask for rough pricing and if they do meet and greets before you make a choice. But not all of them have a free meet and greet (might have to pay around £200 for a booked consultation if they don't). But let me know if you find out more, I'm currently doing my research too!

Thanks, will do! I had my first hold at the Lindo with Prof Teoh two years ago but that was covered with insurance. This time we’re funding, so as much as I loved Teoh, I’m looking for someone whose fees are lower.

I have spoken to Pat O’Briens office and he charges £3,500 for delivery only at the Portland so I’ll likely go with him if I can’t find a more reasonable consultant at the Lindo, but Lindo would be my first choice. Thanks again for responding!

If you want cheaper consultants fees you will probably need one of the newer less established consultants rather than big names.

The Portland Midwife led was amazing when I had my babies but appreciate that they will have changed now. What is the feedback now?

Teoh is brilliant. He was my consultant completely FREE on the NHS! Is there any particular reason you need a consultant?

Patrick o’brien is fantastic - he’s done the deliveries for me and several of my friends.
