I'm 2 weeks post partum and for the past 2/3 days now I've been having really bad cramping and my bits have been really sore, it even hurts to sit down
(Sorry tmi) I've not long gone to the toilet as I thought I was needing due to the cramping however all that came out was a scarily large blood clot to what I actually felt fall out, just looking for some advice if anyone else has experienced this and should I worry?

If your concerned contact the post natal ward at hospital. Have you been signed off by your midwife yet?

You need to see GP tomorrow, or OOH this evening if you are feeling unwell. You could have an infection or retained placenta. Please get checked out, don't just leave it.

Having said that, I passed a scarily big clot a week post partum and immediately felt much better and stopped losing so much blood, but your situation sounds different.

So yes, sorry, I think you should be concerned about this.

Contact the postnatal ward tonight, they are there 24/7 and will be all to help you. How big was the clot?

As others have said, call post natal ward tonight re the clot.

Did you have any stitches? As mine healed they got very tight and uncomfortable. Think that was around 7-10 days post partum.

I'm not feeling ill or extremely sore at all I feel perfectly fine and the blood isn't bright red, I didn't have any stitches either just a small graze, I'm breast feeding though so I'm not sure if it could be because of that either

So how are things today? Did you get checked out?

If your clot was over the size of a 50p you need to contact OOH tonight. I had a pelvic infection after giving birth bit antibiotics cleared that up. Please get seen as soon as you can.

I didn't go get checked but I've been taking antibiotics for mastitis so wondered if that could be causing it, I've not had any clots or pain today so I'm just going to see how I am over the next few days
