First time mum - was birth early or late?

I'm expecting my first in April and very excited. My parents, who live far away, have arranged their visit for just over 2 weeks after my due date. I was hoping to have some time with just my husband and the baby before their visit, but have now realised some women can be as late as 2 weeks past their due date. Wah.

Were you on time with your first? How early or late?

Four days late. How early or late was your mum with her first? I've heard that's a good guide, it was certainly the case with me. Good luck Smile

Due date for 1st, 6 weeks early for 2nd. If they end up being there from the start it will be ok. Just go with it. It's out of your control. There will be plenty of time for the 2 of you x

Due date is just an estimate...baby will appear when good and ready, you can't plan these things without medical intervention...sorry!!

Both daughters born at 39+4

I was my mums eldest, born at 40+14, younger sister born at 40+7 so no correlation between me and my mum.

My DS was 3 days early from due date in the end. But I was induced, or rather, attempted!!! Due 17th - I went into hospital on the 10th to be induced and he arrived very late on 14th

Such variation! For those who were 2 weeks late, what heroes...

I find my parents quite stressful at the best of times, so was hoping they wouldn't be there from the start...!

16 days late.

On average babies are born around 40+10 but I can't recall where I got that stat from.

For my second, my IL’s booked to stay (from abroad) for a month. 2 weeks before my due date, 2 after. DD2 came at 40+2. It was awful, I had to endure 2 weeks of them saying ‘ooh has it started?’ every time I bloody moved.
