Hello Smile

I'm sitting here at 39+2 in hospital, had a sweep on Saturday (trying to avoid a second cs), doctor said he'd managed a good sweep because neck of womb was slightly open but didn't hold out much hope of it working (dc1 emcs at 37 weeks, I never laboured).

Anyways had a small bit of cramping Saturday night, nothing major. Lost mucus plug yesterday at 5pm, then waters broke very unexpectedly at 10.30pm while I was asleep, never woke so fast! Pressure and minor contractions started soon after, now here we are at 5.45am and they are 3-15 mins apart lasting 15-50 seconds.

I've been googling to distract myself because I can't get comfy to sleep, just to see a rough estimate of what kind of time frame to expect, but it's all guesswork with the sweep, being "only" 39 weeks etc.

Anyone have stories or guesses for me? I wish our hospital's policy was to let you do early labour at home but it's not so I'm stuck here, keep me company mn!

No story as both mine were CS, but I'm guessing 1718 today. Good luck Smile

However long they'll let you go with no waters as a maximum.

My waters broke first with both of mine and I had the emcs after 31 and 38 hours respectively.

I was having such regular contractions that the midwives thought it might progress quick enough but they've slowed in the last hour. If I'm still here tomorrow the consultant will review, meaning a cs. I was coping better with the contractions than without them, gave me something to focus on but now I'm just waiting cluelessly!

So frustrating for you! Hopefully it's picked up again now

If it hasn't, we tried lots of word games which helped. When I finally ended up in theatre the anaesthetist and theatre nurse joined in which helped make a nice atmosphere.

Nothing has happened other than still random contractions. Ignore my idiotically positive thread hoping that this would go well.

Bad luck, Foggy.I imagine this is one of the longer days of your life.
But it's not over yet... Lot of hours before tomorrow morning....Are you able to move about, keep upright, and active? Supposed to help. Although ime, babies have their own agenda on when to arrive.

Worst case, you'll meet your wonderful baby tomorrow. You're both safe in hospital, and having a lovely DC2 is so much more important than how they arrive. Yes, I know, I'm clutching for positive straws, but might as well look on the bright side.

Hope you get some sleep tonight.

Nothing idiotic about being positive Foggy and no reason it can't still work out the way you want.

Whatever happens, you should be enjoying snuggles with your new baby very soon Flowers
