I'm sitting in a very empty quiet maternity ward having somehow managed to produce a beautiful baby boy this evening.

Absolutely knackered having been on the go since yesterday lunchtime but can't stop staring at him in shock, awe and love Smile

PS Why do boys get the good eyelashes?!?!

Congratulations and we'll done! Enjoy your lovely boy.
Ps. My girls have amazing eyelashes but not until about 2 months. Before then they had none!

Congratulations!!

My DH has the most amazing eyelashes, I’m hoping our DD gets them as I have contemplated stealing them off him haha

Thank you! This is a completely pointless post but DH has been sent home and I needed to blurt out my feelings - thank you so much for replying!

Yay!!! Congratulations on your little boy. I have a DS and I definitely agree about the eyelashes 😍 Gorgeous!

Hope you manage to get some sleep, you must be exhausted. And I hope you enjoy your first night as a Mum, it's amazing.

Just realised you hadn't said he was a firstborn - I've just jumped to conclusions. Apologies if this isn't your first rodeo Grin

Congratulations! It's amazing isn't it? I had my first 6 months ago and whenever I think about her birth and meeting her I well up.
Enjoy him. Do things slow/at your own pace. Hold him and sniff him as much as you can. You can listen to advice - but don't doubt your instinct. Even at your lowest- you've got this mama. X

Thanks for your words of wisdom ladies, he's currently snuggled inside my nighty and isn't going anywhere any time soon. He smells amazing and has the softest skin I've ever felt in my life. In love.

I've just welled up a bit for you. DS is 18 months old and I remember that first night on the ward, just me and him, well. Enjoy every second OP, drink him in. Congratulations!

Oh my, he's beautiful. I'm so so so jealous. There is nothing as precious in this world as that first night with your newborn baby - nothing. Cherish this night. And congratulations!

My PFB is 19 and started university this term and I still clearly remember staring at him for hours on his first day. Really magical. Enjoy!

Awwwww he's lovely!! I know exactly how you feel. That first day with your newborn baby 😍 My six month old DS is currently wriggling round beside me with a pile of toys and looking up occasionally to check that mummy is there (he still has beautiful eyelashes!). It goes so fast!

Ooh squishy! You aren't wrong about those eyelashes!
Producing an actual person out of you is freaky weird and brilliant no matter how much science explains it Grin
