OP, did you have any luck? I'm quite interested in visiting the QCC birth centre as well!

I went on one 5 years ago so this maybe out of date. They gave a tour of the rooms which are lovely compared to the normal ward. When I got there in labour the birthing centre was full and I was pushing so I gave birth on the maternity ward, but they then let me stay the night in the birthing centre. They were very sweet.

They have double beds so your partner can stay over and their own bathrooms. Some have pools. They had things like mattresses on the floor and birthing balls too. The birth prep talk was mostly about staying at home as long as possible (until 3 xcontractions in 10 mins lasting >minute each IIRC) and focused on active birth. Obvs you can't have an epidural or anything but you can transfer over to the main ward if you decide you want one.

I don't think I got a spot on my tour till I was 38+5 so don't give up hope!
