Can't advise but just want to say good luck xxx

HeartburnCentral · 11/09/2017 11:05

Congratulations. I'm still pregnant with my dcda twins but from reading about it, you can only have a natural birth if Twin A (the baby nearest to the cervix) is head down. It is best if both are head down but if Twin A is head down and Twin B is beech it is possible to turn Twin B once Twin A is born. Usually, they advise getting the epidural early in the labour because if Twin A is born by vagina and they can't get twin b into head down position or if there is other complications, there is a (4% I think) chance Twin B would need to be born by c section. Let us know how you get on. Smile

Good luck i wanted one but the boys were non cooperative breach and transverse.
All through pregnancy.

Jedbartletforpresident · 11/09/2017 11:14

Good luck! I wanted one and pushed hard for it (no pun intended) but both twins were breech and then twin 1's heart-rate dropped and wasn't recovering and I was rushed through for an emcs. (All rather chaotic in the end as I was fully in labour and went from 3cm - 10cm in 45min so by the time the CS happened I was fully dilated and ready to push.)

To reassure you - I was dead set against a CS for a variety of reasons but in the end it was ok and nowhwere near as bad and I had expected it to be.

Jedbartletforpresident · 11/09/2017 11:15

That's not to say you will have a CS - just to reassure you that if it happens it's ok! I had two natural births before my DTs and to me a CS really was the worst case scenario but it was fine in the end

Do update OP as would love to know how it went! Good luck.

newtlover · 11/09/2017 19:41

yes- do update!
I had a natutal birth with mine, in the face of stiff opposition from hospital who wanted me to have an epidural
T1 was head down and T2 slightly transverse
v quick 1st stage (3 hours)
T1 born with me kneeling- looking back I wish I hd had nore time with her, she was handed to DP, the mw felt to see what position T2 was in (now head down) and she encouraged me to start pushing, which I did and delivered her also kneeling.
It IS possible Grin

I pushed for 1hr but unfortunately twin A was in the wrong position so had a C section. My sister had hers vaginally without induction. She did have assisted delivery though.

MamaDeeGee · 11/09/2017 21:24

MamaDeeGee · 13/09/2017 12:25

Just to update you all still waiting for a bed! Im getting awfully annoyed now as i have to have delivered by the 17th and im now worrying due to it been left so late theyll push for a section! :(

OP posts:
newtlover · 13/09/2017 19:14

why do you have to deliver by the 17th?
you could have daily monitoring if you don't go into labour by yourself
(but I bet you will!)

MamaDeeGee · 13/09/2017 20:03

My consultant wants them out by the 17th,

Im not due til the 1st of oct as they were been brought early x

OP posts:
HeartburnCentral · 13/09/2017 22:25

Is induction an option to see if they can kick start labor itself before trying for a section?

MamaDeeGee · 14/09/2017 05:06

They are suppose to be breaking my waters when theres space so i dont think il need induction but im worried with how late theyve left it theyll jump straight to section! Been tryin to ask them on phone for past 24hours but just get "we will get someone to call you back" then they dont

Beep looking for you post since Monday to see if anything was happening! Can't believe u are still waiting, hope it all happens soon xx

inniu · 14/09/2017 11:02

I had mine naturally. Spontaneous labour.

MamaDeeGee · 14/09/2017 11:10

I have been having contractions etc over last week but nothing strong enough x

HeartburnCentral · 14/09/2017 11:26

Most hospitals like to give every opportunity for a vaginal birth before considering a section unless the positions are breech so hopefully they will give you a chance once they bring you in to break the waters. It's very frustrating when you can't get a straight answer from them.
