Is the GTT meant to make you feel so bad?

I don't know if it's linked or if I'm just having a bad day but I had the 2 hour Glucose Tolerance Test this morning at 35 weeks, while I was waiting the two hours I felt awful, sweaty, shaky, sick and faint. Afterwards I had something to eat and came home, had a bath and fell asleep til about 6 o'clock. I feel so awful still and exhausted, has anyone else had this? I'm worried it means the results will come back that I have gestational diabetes?

Yep. Had exactly the same thing. Ended up snoozing in the waiting room of the maternity ward as it was the quietest place to spend the two hours and they didn't have a room available! Felt awful.

Ended up getting the all clear.

Just in case this thread scares any one off having the GTT, I will say o felt absolutely fine during mine. Didn't feel any different from any other day except I got a proper phlebotomist taking my blood so it was less awkward than the midwife doing it.

I'm sorry you ladies felt rubbish for the day but it's not true for everyone so please don't anyone be scared off doing it, the results are so important.

I felt absolutely awful when I had mine last pregnancy. At the time I had to get up 2 flights of stairs to get to my flat and I literally crawled the 2nd one and across the landing through the door! My came back negative though so feeling terrible probably doesn't have much to do with the result.

Already dreading the test 2nd time around Sad

Me too! I can understand feeling shite before the test but I felt rough all day even when I'd resumed stuffing my face!!
