Had a propess tampon thingy put in at midday today. Started having a few periody type pains an hour or so after then nothing until about 6.30pm and been having tightenings every 6 or 7 minutes. Can't say they're painful but they're very uncomfortable. My poor foof feels like it's been battered to within an inch of it's life 😭 It's so swollen.
This is DC3. Both DC were born with normal spontaneous labours so this is totally new to me. Been induced due to slow growth and baby is on 5th centile.

Please hold me hand!

I would love to hold your hand but fear I would be useless as I am 42 weeks pregnant with my first child, had my second sweep today and have been told it would be a good idea to be induced on Friday morning if no progress has been made by then. There was nothing about being induced in my antenatal classes and all the information I find online seems to contradict itself. My midwife explained a bit but possibly you can trailblaze for me MamaTT. Good luck and if possible let me know how it goes x

Good luck. Sounds like everything is going well. When I was induced with DS nothing happened until my waters were broken but then he came in a hurry. Hope you meet you baby soon.

They're so busy on the ward that they're not progressing any more inductions. The lady opposite has had her propess taken out after 24 hours but won't be given another one until tomorrow because they're too busy. Another lady is waiting to have her waters broken but has been told it probably won't be until Friday. Praying this pessary works by itself. Dying to get home to DC 1and2.

Contracting every 3 mins and they're getting a bit painful now! Praying I have a baby in the morning!

Good! Sounds like things are moving now! The fact the contractions are only a 'bit painful' at this stage gives me some hope too, although you may just be one of those superwomen. Feeling for the woman who has to wait to Friday to have her waters broken though.

Contractions died down now and pessary has fallen out 😭

It took 3 midwives to put the propess back in. Baby's head is right down but she's back to back so the contractions have been pushing her head down to push my cervix back. Still only 1-2cm but very soft and quite thin apparently. I'm gutted. Been contacting every 3-4 mins and I'm not getting anywhere. They're starting to die down now. If this propess doesn't work and they put a hold on the induction I'm considering asking to be transferred to a different hospital. Thought I'd have my baby by now!

I thought you would have your baby by now. I am sorry to hear you haven't.I hope you haven't been in pain all this time. Will they do anything differently at another hospital? Are you on the hormone drip yet?

Was contracting all morning until pessary was removed. Had a tablet inserted at 4pm and was sent for a walk. Tablet fell out. No more contractions. They won't give me another tablet until 10pm. I miss my kids, my foof hurts, I'm fed up of getting my bits out and I want to go home.

they won't progress any more inductions until the morning now because labour ward is full. I'm really fed up.

Good luck op...third inductions don't seem to be working this week! (Other threads)
I'm due in oct with dc3 and have had two spontaneous labours so far...the thought of being induced never occurred to me but after this week I'm now thinking it may happen.
Best of luck to you..this will all be a distant memory in the not too far future.

I really thought you would be holding your baby by now. I am not surprised you are sore and fed up. Hope something happens in the night.

Still no baby. They still can't progress any more inductions because labour ward is so busy but because they've started the process, I can't be discharged. I was allowed home for a couple of hours yesterday. I'm so frustrated. I need to get home to my kids. It's been 48 hours now since they last did anything. It's awful. there was talk of transferring me to a different hospital but that hasn't materialised. I just want my baby and to go home.

Does the consultant see you daily? Could you refuse to continue with the induction and request a CS? I'm not sure if that would improve your situation or not, but if they won't continue, won't let you home and don't transfer you there aren't a lot of other options Flowers

I reached day 6 of my induction and really wished I'd put my foot down sooner. I only had the induction because DC was at risk and in the end they agreed that the risk wasn't getting any lower the longer the induction took.

Good luck - I hope your baby arrives soon and safely Smile

2 ladies on the ward have requested c sections and they're still in the same boat - they have to wait until Tuesday/Wednesday. They're hoping inductions will resume tonight/tomorrow morning. There's 3 of us waiting all together. Praying the pregnant ladies of my town don't choose tonight to go into natural labour so that I get my turn.

I'd probably go home or at least threaten to go home. It annoys me how they insist that induction is essential but then just leave women sitting around for days and days when it suits the hospital! Hope things happen for you soon, OP

still no news. Midwife is 99% sure inductions will resume again today but we heard this yesterday.
So frustrated! Fed up of crying and fed up of hearing ladies in labour and feeling huge pangs of jealousy!

No inductions today but not allowed home!
Does anyone know if it's possible to ask for all of my care to be transferred to a different hospital within the same trust? I've totally lost faith with this hospital. My anxiety is through the roof, my DS is struggling without me. My DH died in December 2015 and as a result my DS Is very very clingy and very very protective of me and isn't coping without me. It's day 5 now and I just want to go home.

Oh Mama Flowers

I'd suggest contacting PALS today to get someone onside. The Supervisor of Midwives should also be able to help advise you, although, is there someone who could be with you for support during these conversations?

I remember from my booking in appointment that it is possible to change your mind about which hospital you use, although I don't know how that works in other Trusts or post-admission. How many hospitals are in your Trust?

Beautiful! Lovely name too. How big can I ask? Only I was going to say 5th centile doesn't sound too worrying. They can't all be above it or the centile would move!

She was estimated to be 5lb 4oz at 38 weeks but she was born at 39 weeks exactly at 7lb 2oz. All that worry for no reason at all. She's perfect.
