C section gift

We got a new DN from our exhausted sister who had a long pregnancy/birth then emergency c section, what's the best gift we can send for her!?

We can't visit for a month at least so want to send something just now just for her to make her feel lovely and I don't know what would be perticularly useful/thoughtful after a section?

Not flowers!

Thanks Smile

That's so nice!! I'd have loved a little basket with some really nice shower gels and bits like that a little pamper pack, stuff for her hair, arnica, body lotion, just little girlie bits and bobs for her, chocolates, whatever her favourite treats are, you're so thoughtful, I'd have loved a gift like that

Some really nice edible treats! I had a similar experience and I could hardly move without pain. Showering was a massive struggle (I needed help to get in and out) so I wouldn't have been too excited about nice smellies (although I would have appreciated them for later).

All the posh chocolate my mum gave me was amazing though. Especially at 4am when I was trying to express milk and not fall asleep on the baby.

Slippers and super-soft pyjamas a size bigger than usual. That's what my best friend gave me and I couldn't have been happier! You spend a lot of your waking life in comfy nightwear after a section; probably after any sort of birth, to be fair!

One of the best non-baby presents we got was a blue cheese hamper and a bottle of port! Didn't last long but boy was it nice

Biscuits. Or whatever comfort food she loves best. For many people an emergency section is not a big deal compared to having a new baby to deal with, I'd focus on "becoming a new mum" rather than birth method. Food was definitely what I appreciated most after both mine.

You are being so nice to send something just for her, what a lovely thing to do.

I like the idea of soft cosy pyjamas or nightie - with a button up top for breastfeeding (or not, but gives the option).

I didn't use any perfumed toiletries after my babies because I'd read it can be too much for the baby and they need to be able to smell your own smell. Don't know if that's bollocks though!

Brownies, from brownie points, they do gift boxes through the post and claim to be "the best brownies you'll ever eat" I know a new Mum who loved them.
