Those of you that have had 3+ babies what was your third labour like? I'm due DD3 a week today and I've read some horror stories online about how 3rd labour tends to be the worsed one? Someone put my mind at ease please? Haha DD1 was 7 days late with an 11 hour labour and DD2 was 3 days late with a 5 hour labour so I've been hoping I'll either go a little early or on time this time!🙏

My third was the easiest of the lot.

DC3 arrived five days early, labour was about 5 hours from start to finish, it was a very straightforward home birth.

Previous labours were 21 hours & 12 hours.

It was very similar to my second labour.

DC1 - 27 hours
DC2 - 3.5 hours
DC3 - 3.5 hours

My third was the fastest (so far, hoping number 4 is faster) and I didn't need any stitches. Was also my scariest as she was undiagnosed breech.

Super easy. Dc3 turned up in less the 1hour 15mins. From first contraction waking me up. Paramedics got there just in time to catch and give me a few puffs on the gas and air with my few pushes to get him out.

Thanks ladies! My previous labours have all been so easy with no pain relief and water births so was really hoping for the same this time... feel loads better better now, hopefully this one will be the same!

DC3 was my quickest labour, I also felt like I coped with it better having been through it twice before. Good luck and congrats!

First - two weeks late, third degree tear
Second- two days late, epidural, baby got a bit stuck, born blue but was fine straightaway.
Third - kept on toes as baby didn't turn until last minute. waters broke, induced, didn't feel contractions until crowning (!!!!) Baby flew out. Lovely skin to skin, best birth of all!!

Third baby here too. Have been wondering/preparing myself for the same. I'm 38+2 and was 42 weeks with DC one, 39 weeks with DC2.

First labour was a horrendous 40 hours of all kinds of intervention after an induction.

Second labour was an amazing six hour home birth with no pain relief needed. Much like your two previous labours!

I'm sort of preparing myself for a long, hard labour but fingers crossed it's ok. And for you too OP!

I heard horror.stories about 3rd Labours but mine was very quick & straight forward. 90mins from first contraction untill she was born. It was a lovely birth experience the best of my 3. She arrived at 6.30pm, left the hospital at 9.30pm & snuggled on the couch by10pm.

This is reassuring... Am due any day and have been wondering the same as this is my third baby! My first was 12 hours, second 3 hours and had heard horror stories about a third.

So reassuring but - lol - do you not feel like your third labour will be the exception that breaks the rule? Grin

Third labour was super quick, probably about half an hour? DC4 (first two were twins) was born whilst I was waiting for DH to get back from the school run to take me to hospital Grin
No pain relief but no problems either thankfully.
Good luck everyone.
