what to do 2 days overdue possible SPD HELP

I'm 40 weeks plus two days today and I'm really struggling I don't know what to do who to talk to etc.

I haven't been leaving the house and have been spending £30-50 a week on taxis just to get around. I've told my midwife about the pain I'm in but she just says "it's horrible isn't it" I managed a long walk yesterday around the shops my DM made me a makeshift belly band so I could get out the house.

The moment I got home and took it of the pain was back I can't walk constantly limping holding on to walls even crawling sometimes. If my legs are separated the pain is excruciating so I have to keep them together I can't lift a leg up when putting my undies on so have to lie down to get dressed.

I'm up at the moment with pain in my legs and have just whimpered all the way to the toilets and back. My symptoms sound like spd from what I have read up on, where do I go from here? I don't even think I could put my body through labour at the moment I'm in so much pain.

I am so desperate for some advice I can't go on like this anymore I'm starting to feel shitty and depressed.

Aw bless you. I'm also 40+2 and for the past week have been developing SPD pain. My midwife was sympathetic when I saw her yesterday but I've not got it half as bad as you.
Why not be more open and direct to your midwife about it? Say exactly what you have said here.
Say you're worried you won't be able to cope in labour and discuss a possible ELCS.
I'm sorry you're feeling so bad. It will all be over soon. Flowers

I have no advice but at 40+3 with severe SPD I can sympathise. I'm now not able to leave the house at all. Not sure there is much abyone can do. I'm holding out for baby to come quickly.

Thanks ladies I've just dropped her a text with everything I said here. I was in the bath at 4 this morning because of the pains and I've barely slept Sad feel like I'm wasting her time because he's due any day but my body is exhausted and I'm fed up of crying.

How awful for you OP. I think at your late stage there probably isn't a lot that can be done unfortunately but trying to ease the symptoms as you're doing. I'm 26 weeks and starting to develop it (second pregnancy and pelvic floor a bit shafted from the first). It's tolerable for me now and I'm doing the things the NHS website suggests to help (and hoping it doesn't get really bad).

Sorry no advice but plenty of sympathy. I'm in exactly the same situation as you. I think I've left the house twice in the last fortnight. Midwife agreed it was awful but assured me my body would behave when the time comes.

How far apart can you open your legs without pain? This is something they need to know in order not to make SPD worse in labour. There are positions apparently that are better for SPD than others - as you can imagine lying on your back with your legs akimbo is going to make it really bad!

Have you got a diagnosis? My consultant and GP confirmed mine. Has it come on recently or have you had it a while and it's got worse? If it's just come on it might not be SPD so you need someone to check it is SPD.

If I were you I'd get onto GP asap and then go from there. The hospital will be able to cope with a labouring woman with SPD as 1 in 5 have it but I think you need to make sure that is what is happening first, there are other things which have similar symptoms that need ruling out. Best of luck.
