I'm current sat in a delivery room after giving birth at home at 19.45 yesterday.

My ds decided he was ready to come at 36+3.

I've had mild cramping most of the day but the maternity ward said to talk some paracetamol and call them back if the cramping hadn't stopped.

All of a sudden I felt the urge to push. Dp was bathing ds1 at the time so I headed for the bedroom where my waters broke and screamed for dp to get ds out of the bath.

Poor dp didn't know what to do. I told him to call 999. He then tried to get crying ds1 dressed while i screamed to the paramedic. Then I needed to push so do had to abandon ds1 to deliver ds2!

Luckily it was over in 5 minutes and ds2 arrived just before the ambulance.

Congratulations! I hope that both DSs are doing well. It must have been traumatic to have such a rapid labour and before 37 weeks as well. I would still be in shock! I hope that your recovery goes well.

Just out of interest did you have to stay in the delivery room for long? Also, how long was your first labour?

Ha Ha! The best laid plans.... My best friend did the same. Flowers

the only reason my 2nd wasn't born on the dining room floor was because my sister called round unexpectedly and told me to GO NOW. We made it with 5 minutes to spare. My 1st took 2 days to arrive so I was very blase about how long labour would take.

Has your DH recovered from the shock yet?!

Congratulations!!!

Hope you are okay and your DH isn't too traumatised. How is baby?

I had an unattended HB this year as well. I never in a million years thought that the midwives and paramedics wouldn't make it in time. My poor mother probably got the worst of it, she turned up two minutes after to see DH holding a slimy baby, me naked and a LOT of bloody towels everywhere!
