I'm about to be induced - ahhhh!!

36+4 with DCDA twin boys and about to be induced any minute!!
I keep crying, I'm so excited and nervous and anxious and overwhelmed.

50/50 will end in C Section but I'm open to whatever is safest for my little boys!

Don't know why I'm posting except out of excitement and nerves..

Any advice or stories (good/bad)?

I was induced (2 weeks ago) with an oxytocin drip? Really positive experience and baby came out right as rain. Obviously a lot tougher with 2! GOOD LUCK! FlowersSmile

How did it go? I was induced at 37+6 with my dcda boys. Ended up with an emcs, but 14 months on, it's all about of a hazy memory now! Good luck, I hope everything's gone brilliantly 💐💐

Yes I had the horrible period pains with the pessary. Is the next step to break your waters or is it the drip? Anyway, hope all goes great for you and you'll soon have them in your arms!

Meant to say I was induced for two pregnancies. All went well, the first one took a little longer but that's to be expected.

Next step will be breaking my waters! Those of you who had the pessary and period type pains - how long were you waiting for things to really get going ? Beyond excited but the wait is killing me Hmm

Pessary at 6pm - period pains by 8pm - full blown contractions by 10pm. 12am - through the roof and ready to go!! Baby born the next morning.

Best of luck.

Had first pessary at 10am, second at 6pm and baby born 1.30am, I think 5 years ago now and I've not slept since then!

I had DCDA twin boys at 36+6 last year - induced, no pessary required so waters broken at 6.30am. Both boys and placenta delivered by 2.45 pm; no drip and no intervention (forceps were waved for Twin2 but I wasn't having any of it!)

I had had a previous delivery though so don't know if that has any baring on it. Best of luck, you can do it and if it ends in a C Section you have still succeeded! Be sure to share a photo of the little squishy bundles Grin

Ah I'm very jealous of your quick inductions, hoping to have my little ones here asap! Pains getting a lot stronger, worse than I've ever had with a period but similar sensation Blush

Mine took a bit longer than everyone else's. The first time I ended up having two pessaries and then water broken and then on the drip. Took two days. Second time was much faster, pessary then about 6 hrs later drip and then about 6 hours later she was born. I am a very slow starter though so I wouldn't use my experience as an example!

Contractions started about 3am, they will break my waters at 1.30pm (or as soon as they have room on delivery after that)!

This is such a long process!!

Only 1cm but they are confident they can break my waters anytime now - just a case of waiting for a room on labour & delivery! Wooooo Grin

Yay, fingers crossed it all goes smoothly for you. If you go on the drip request an epidural; for my first birth (induction at 37+1) I was on the drip for a very long time (24hrs) and my womb went into hyperstimulation after 16 hours (& I had to wait a further 4hrs for an epidural) so I would recommend you request it to be sited at the same time as the drip. I didn't need the drip with my twin birth, except once Twin1 was born to ensure my contractions continued for Twin2, so fingers crossed for you Smile Good luck Grin

Ahh thank you for your advice and brackets. Being moved to labour and delivery for the water breaking now! Does the epidural needle hurt a lot? I googled it, it's huge! Shock

To be honest, I was in that much pain from the hyperstimulation I didn't notice it! Did find it weird when having my waters broken though, not painful just a bit bizarre.

Hopefully you are well on your way now - hope it goes smoothly Smile Envious of the brand new snuggles you will get, enjoy!
