Would love to hear what people thought of the private facility at UCLH. Which consultant did you use and what was the post natal midwifery care like?

I'm thinking about it for the night after my birth of they have space on the day. £850 a night though!

I had Pat 0'Brian as my named consultant for first birth there. I was NHS but I see he now does both. He was lovely - seemed to be only half listening in consultations but v well respected and he did a lot to allay my fears when cutting back on meds that had been over prescribed by another clinic earlier in the pregnancy. Another Consultant performed my actual c-section though.

Have you been for a look around there?

Just to clarify - I was in the standard NHS wards but I know that consultant works in both

Thanks for replying, are you having another c section?

Not yet looked around, but booked in to have a look in a few weeks.

I'm going to try for a VBAC this time but if I get to due date and it hasn't happened naturally they've recommended I have an ELCS.

The pictures of the Fitzrovia rooms look lovely and I like the fact that there is a bed for partners to stay over and a bit more privacy.

The antenatal care I've had on the NHS at UCLH has been amazing but I'm dreading the post natal ward as that was not fun last time around.
