Has your milk come in? Are you engorged? I felt like this on day four after EMCS when my milk came in.

Or if not - maybe you should call the ward you were discharged from in case it's an infection?

Have you taken your temperature, Op? What is your vaginal loss like?
You might be cooking an infection somewhere so if your temp is raised, you should ring on call Midwifery Service.

I'd call 111 or the ward for some advice. Hope you feel better soon, sounds horrible.

I think you've got an infection my lovely, is there any redness around your scar?

BikeRunSki Sun 13-Dec-15 18:52:40

I was going to say that this sounds like a reaction to the anasethic, but 5 days is a long time later for the reaction in my experience (of only 2 cs!). 5 days is a very normal time for "baby blues" though - being tearful and emotional - but this doesn't sound like that.

Do you perhaps also a cold as well as having had a baby?

Could it be a mix of anasethic, hormones, cold, fatigue? Are you still seeing your MW?

BikeRunSki Sun 13-Dec-15 18:54:03

Actually, ignore me. Yes, could be an infection. Ring the ward.

mrsjoker35 Sun 13-Dec-15 19:05:18

I've no temp or anything.
I saw midwife today, she checked my scars dressing, their going to remove it tomorrow.she checked my pulse and saif it was normal i told her of my loss of appetite and diarrhea, and didn't say much on it.

My breasts are engorged and leaking yes.

CheeseandGherkins Sun 13-Dec-15 19:07:27

Any redness or lumps on your breasts? Could be mastitis, which is an infection. Your symptoms does sound like it could be an infection. It could also be the start of one in your scar, have you had a look? I would err on the side of caution and see a nurse or dr tomorrow.

ElfOnTheBoozeShelf Sun 13-Dec-15 19:08:40

Are you breastfeeding? Are there any red / hot patches on your breasts?

CheeseandGherkins Sun 13-Dec-15 19:09:04

Also, you do need some calories in you, could you manage soup, smoothie, something like that? With a newborn, and recovering from major surgery , your body needs food. Even more so if you're breastfeeding.

mrsjoker35 Sun 13-Dec-15 19:10:53

No ,nothing like that on my breasts
I cant see my scar the dressing is still on it.

CheeseandGherkins Sun 13-Dec-15 19:12:40

Can you lift the dressing up carefully and have a look? Are you drinking enough fluids? Not eating can also make you feel shaky and dizzy. Oh another one to watch for is DVT's. I had them from pregnancy but didn't know until after my section. Any leg pain or cramps? I felt dizzy with mine but obviously had other symptoms.

LovelyWeatherForDucks Sun 13-Dec-15 19:16:42

For about 3 weeks post CC I had bouts of dodgy bowels and it took a few weeks to feel like eating properly. Other symptoms do sound like mastitis, so keep feeding, keep an eye out for sore patches over the next few hours and REST. Recovering and breastfeeding will use up lots of energy/calories so make sure you force yourself to eat little and often even if you don't feel like it. I'd suggest calling your postnatal ward for advice.

mrsjoker35 Sun 13-Dec-15 20:59:24

I was given ferrous sulfate, and i think it might be that after looking up the side effects. Apparently my iron levels are fine. I've no idea why I've been given them???

bonzo77 Sun 13-Dec-15 21:17:35

Sleep deprivation. Anaemia. New thyroid problem. Infection. At less than a week post partum you should still have access to the hospital you delivered in. I'd go to or call maternity triage.

ExitStageLeft Sun 13-Dec-15 21:20:38

Are you engorged? How's feeding going?

poocatcherchampion Sun 13-Dec-15 21:27:36

Nobody has suggested the painkillers - morphine does that to me..?

Look at this lovely list of c section/birth side effects. Its a glamorous time isn't it.

Hope you feel better soon flowers

CheeseandGherkins Sun 13-Dec-15 22:01:00

Why would she have morphine? I had paracetamol and ibuprofen after mine and that was it. I went home after about 28 hours too, couldn't stand it there. I had her late afternoon and went home the following night.

Coldand Sun 13-Dec-15 22:03:00

I had oramorph too and that made me woozy but also constipated, no diarrhoea

90sforever Sun 13-Dec-15 22:07:18

I had this with the iron tablets too. You can get another type which doesn't give you diahorria, I would make sure you get in and get this sorted whilst you're under midwife care as once they released you you'll have to deal with the GP nightmare

poocatcherchampion Sun 13-Dec-15 22:08:07

For the pain cheese - many do

broomy123 Sun 13-Dec-15 22:32:54

I totally lost my appetite for about two weeks after my section. All I could eat was salad. I was hopefully they'd removed my greedy gene but they hadn't wink
I also had awful diarrhoea for a month or so. I did have a fairly traumatic and long labour with lots of drugs so felt like my body was slightly in shock after the ordeal if that makes sense?

I was fine though but like others say keep an eye on your temp. Also drink plenty of water. Make sure you're taking it mega easy and getting looked after thanks
