Is this beginning of labour do you think?

Third dc but first was induced die to premature rupture of membranes and second was two weeks late and then v quick once already in hospital for induction that didn't need as contractions started before they got round to me.

Am 38.5 weeks. Had sweep this week and was already 2cm dilated but mw said could be like this for ages (and was 3-4cm dilated for two weeks with ds before contractions started).

Anyhow have felt grumpy all day. Literally stayed in bed other than school role. This pm intermittent period pains in back but achey rather than painful. Tightenings in tummy but again no pains.

Going to have bath and take 2 paracetamol and go to bed. But hoping it waits until morning at least as it will be pain to get my parents here in middle of night to do dc1 and 2. On other hand easier to get to hospital in night than rush hour. Hmmmm. Maybe 6am ish would be good time - pre rush hour...

Bet it takes weeks now I am even thinking about this...

No clue if it sounds like the beginning of labour as I'm only pregnant with my first, but just wondering if it was and you've had baby yet?

If it was then it stopped again... Still tightening and periody but not labour yet....

Your story sounds almost exactly like mine!
First ds induced after waters went, second dd I went in to be induced on due date but went Into labour naturally before they got to me. Now 3 days overdue with third and keep getting contractions start and then stop, bad stretching pains. I'm so fed up. I'm in a lot of pain and struggling to look after my older children, husband working all the time and so sick of the school run and everyone asking me why I haven't had this baby yet and offering "helpful" advice!

I am also you! Waiting on DC3, had 2 hours of what felt like contractions last night and thought something was happening but died down totally today...only 39+1 but ready for it to be here now!

Good luck to you too! It's hard going third time round isn't it. I got my hopes up a bit yesterday as after dragging myself about feeling rubbish for weeks I woke up with a massive surge of energy, has to clean house, could walk an just couldn't sit down! Sadly this didn't last and nothing happened!

Hi ladies I'm 39 weeks today and this is my 3rd baby and iv been having very obvious period pain all through the night and day. Never had this with my other 2 children, has anyone else had this?

Hi 321gem I think it could be an early labour sign! I'm 40 weeks and have had period type pain for the past 3 nights. Know that baby has moved down as my acid indigestion has also completely disappeared in the past few days!

Fingers crossed for both of us-be good to hear how you get on.

Hi lexilexi I will let you no I felt terrible yesterday had bad period pain with feeling sick off and on feel better this morning. Having a home birth as well so don't have the worry of getting to hospital. I hope all is well for you and baby is here soon.

I had the period pain back and front last night but so far has come to nothing :( 40 weeks today! Come on baby...

Hi Datsuncogs hopefully baby will arrive soon the waiting game is so tough. Iv had like a period pain for two weeks off and on iv had it for 3 days solid now and still no baby. All I want to do is rest now and I no that's probably the worst thing.

Yes I have the same and today I feel so down! I decided to stop waiting for baby and plan things for kids half term as been too worried to just in case. I have been on long walks the past few days, did big food shop yesterday and this morning walked all round town. Got in car an had quite a strong contraction, then another, and a few more. By the time I got home they were getting so strong I has to breath through them. I packed the kids overnight bags, for some food together for dh and was all set to call parents to drop kids at there's and it all stops! I am still feeling crampy and period pain but definitely no contractions. Kids now really sad as thought they were having a sleep over at nannies and I feel stupid. It's my third baby so should know what I'm looking for by now. To top it off I've has to delete Facebook app as am being harassed and I'm generally very pissed off and feel this baby isn't coming!! I'm sure it's because it's back to back despite doing everything on spinning babies for weeks. Sweep on Monday so hoping that might just so something!

I wish you all the luck for Monday let me know how it goes. baby will be here soon. I have 7 days left tomorrow iv got a sweep booked in next Monday. I don't feel ill be going into labour I feel she wants to stay in keep hoping she will surprise me.
