Sex after childbirth

Hi all, I hope it's ok to ask this here, I posted it under sex but didn't get any answers. I was wondering when is it ok to have sex after giving birth? I had my baby two weeks ago and I feel pretty good, the bleeding has mostly stopped. Do you have to wait until 6 weeks post birth for cervix too close or something like that?

There's no time limit. If you feel comfortable with it, then go ahead. It's recommended you wait until your 6 week check though (not that they really do anything) Have sex when you want.

Personally I would wait until all bleeding had stopped only due to the risk of infection.
I think I waited 7 weeks after my first but that was due to having stitches and 5 weeks after my second as I was still bleeding until 4.5 weeks after.

Totally personal decision though.

I waited 5 weeks but only waited that long as I was still bleeding until then. If you feel like it go for it.

Blimey, fair play to you if you're up for if 2 weeks after baby being born!
I guess it comes down to gown things feel, how well healed you are and how the mood takes your fancy Wink
No medical reason to wait as long as you consider contraception and it all feeling ok for you.
Go go go!

I would say it's totally fine if you have stopped bleeding and you feel fine within yourself if it starts to hurt then just stop just go with how comfortable you are I was 12 weeks after my 1st because I had 45 stitches and didn't want to push and 4 weeks with my second once the bleeding had stopped I would say go for it asking as your comfortable and if you start to hurt in anyway then just stop until you feel ready to try again whether it be and hour or 3 weeks just go at your own pace :)
