Should I have a sweep today?

Today is due date for dc2 and I am booked into see MW and have a sweep.
I had two sweeps (which I found painful / uncomfortable / embarrassing and I felt violated - extreme I know!) with DC1 with no success and ended up being indiced at 41+6 and it was horrendous so really want to avoid being induced again.
Wondering if anyone has any positive experiences / thoughts on sweeps. Really can't decided whether I should go ahead with it or just let nature take its course???

Personally I wouldn't have one today, given your previoau experience. I don't think you've got anything to lose by just sitting back and waiting :)

I.wouldn't.

I had one with DC1 at 39 weeks. She arrived at 40+10.

Had two sweeps with DC2. He arrived at 42 weeks.

I found the sweeps excruciatingly painful and worse than the deliveries in some respects. They also gave me huge amounts of false hope that labour would happen soon.

Babies don't come until they're ready.
