big baby - getting worried

Hi everyone, I'm 38+1 with DC3, getting a bit worried as I'm measuring big. I'm only 5' 1", my partner is 5' 7", I'm not overweight, DC1 was born at 6lb, DC2 was 6lb 80z, both 25th centile or less throughout their babyhood. This baby has consistently been over 50th centile throughout my pregnancy, last measurement was off the growth chart so mw has referred me for a scan tomorrow morning... I'm getting worried that my baby will be too big for me to birth naturally and that I may need interventions like an episiotomy or a cs. Mw said baby is in cephalic position & head is 2/5ths engaged, so that should mean even if he's a bit big he can actually fit his head through my pelvis, right? I am still booked for a planned homebirth atm, but have extra growth scan appt tomorrow. Does anyone know if they will likely estimate my baby's current size / weight & if yes, how accurate are these estimations?

Any and all words of advice / encouragement much appreciated x

Don't worry! It might not mean anything. I was measuring small with my first and when she was born all the midwives came to see her like she was some kind of an attraction. Im tiny like you but she was 9lb 14 oz. Had natural birth with no epistomy or any other common complications. All will go well! x

I measured big with DD, they predicted her at 9lb 9oz... She was 7lb 13oz. Wasn't scanned though so I'm not too sure how accurate a scan is or if they estimate the weight unfortunately!
See what the scan says and try not to worry! Good luck Flowers

Iam 5 foot and my husband is 6ft, and I delivered a 9lb 2 1/2 oz. He was the easiest out of my 3, only 3 pushes and a small cut :) im sure you will be fine, they also said my daughter was going to be big at least 10lb, and she was my smallest at 8lb 5oz.

Mine was 10lb 4oz and she was born without any intervention. I'm 5'5" and 8 and a half stone myself.
