Childbirth

Big first baby; how big was your DC2?

Ds was 9lb 7oz and born by elcs due to transverse presentation so no option for natural birth.
I'm now 37.5 weeks with DD and all is currently looking good for vbac.
But... I'm concerned about her size having heard some big baby horror stories. So if your first was a whopper, how did your second measure up?!

Girls are often smaller than boys at birth, so you might not get a bigger one this time.

I had two boys and they were 7lbs 15oz and 8lb 14oz.

DC1 8lb 12 at 12 days late
DC2 6lb 12 at 6 days late
Next two were somewhere in the middle, try not to worry to much as it is one of those things that you can have little/no impact on!

DD was 8lb 8oz and DS was 10lb 6oz. I gained less during the 2nd pregnancy too so large size of DS more a result of going 10 days over.

PS. Don't panic about the size - the ten pounder was my easiest labour, at home and v straightforward.

DC1 10lb 5oz (EMCS due to asynclitic presentation)
DC2 8lb 15oz (VBAC)
DC3 6lb 10oz (VBAC) (I think I actually exclaimed "Good grief, it's two-thirds of a baby!" but I blame that on the gas and air...)

Ds1 8-13 and hard work
Ds2 9-10, back to back, and easy peasy! I don't think size is the most important factor in a painful birth

Dc1 8lb10
Dc2 9lb3
Dc3 11lb

All SVD, all 40 or 41w. Each labour shorter, easier and less damaging than the previous one.

Hope it goes well for you Smile
