Big first baby; how big was your DC2?

Ds was 9lb 7oz and born by elcs due to transverse presentation so no option for natural birth.
I'm now 37.5 weeks with DD and all is currently looking good for vbac.
But... I'm concerned about her size having heard some big baby horror stories. So if your first was a whopper, how did your second measure up?!

Ds1 10lb
Ds2 11lb

First was just over 10lb, late.

Second was 8 and half pound but also 3 weeks earlier.

Third was is the middle at 9lb bang on due date.

Girls are often smaller than boys at birth, so you might not get a bigger one this time.

I had two boys and they were 7lbs 15oz and 8lb 14oz.

DC1 8lb 12 at 12 days late
DC2 6lb 12 at 6 days late
Next two were somewhere in the middle, try not to worry to much as it is one of those things that you can have little/no impact on!

Outflewthewoo - that's a reassuring!!!

DS 9.7
DD 9.0

ChuckNovice Wed 29-Oct-14 18:05:25

First 2 day late and second 2 days early

Want2bSupermum Wed 29-Oct-14 18:14:49

DD was 8lb 8oz and DS was 10lb 6oz. I gained less during the 2nd pregnancy too so large size of DS more a result of going 10 days over.

Ds1 9lb9oz born 40+8

Ds2 9lb7oz born 40+5

I reckon he was smaller because he arrived quicker smile

littlejohnnydory Wed 29-Oct-14 19:47:46

First 8lb 7oz born on due date.
Second 10lb4oz at 40+16
Third 8lb13oz at 40 +3

littlejohnnydory Wed 29-Oct-14 19:49:08

PS. Don't panic about the size - the ten pounder was my easiest labour, at home and v straightforward.

DD 9 1
DS 10 5 (he was a week late though)

It stung a bit wink

But was fine.

New baby, how lovely. Good luck!

9lb 2oz due date
9lb 13oz 2 weeks late.

Tear and stitches were worse first time though. Think I may have ahem stretched hmm

Ds1 8lb7 born 39 weeks
ds2 8lb13 born 40weeks
ds3 9lb5 born 38weeks I was induced due tk size and reduced movements. Can you imagine how big he would have been if left till term or even past term shock

ilovemonstersinc Wed 29-Oct-14 20:05:32

Ps the biggest was by far the easiest and most safest delivery for me

Clarabumps Wed 29-Oct-14 20:08:50

First 8lbs 12 oz overdue by 6 days
Second 7lb 10oz overdue by 6 days
Third 10lb 2 oz overdue by 14 days

BuckskinnedAstronaut Wed 29-Oct-14 20:08:59

DC1 10lb 5oz (EMCS due to asynclitic presentation)
DC2 8lb 15oz (VBAC)
DC3 6lb 10oz (VBAC) (I think I actually exclaimed "Good grief, it's two-thirds of a baby!" but I blame that on the gas and air...)

ShelaghTurner Wed 29-Oct-14 20:10:24

DD1 8lb 10oz
DD2 10lbs

Both flew out like greased pigs.

Mintyy Wed 29-Oct-14 20:11:30

Dc1 9lb 2oz
Dc2 8lb 15oz

MadameJosephine Wed 29-Oct-14 20:12:36

DS 8lb 12oz at 38+5
DD 6lb 13oz at 39+6 - I remember saying to the midwife 'where's the rest of her?'

bigkidsdidit Wed 29-Oct-14 20:15:47

Ds1 8-13 and hard work
Ds2 9-10, back to back, and easy peasy! I don't think size is the most important factor in a painful birth

SixImpossible Wed 29-Oct-14 20:17:39

Dc1 8lb10
Dc2 9lb3
Dc3 11lb

All SVD, all 40 or 41w. Each labour shorter, easier and less damaging than the previous one.

Hope it goes well for you smile
