I had a great induction! 6 hours, I enjoyed it! Though monitored I stated upright, walked around a bit. Stay positive!

Hope ots all going ok :) im ftm and have induction on the 9th i will be 39wks too! Ive taken a calm approach but the one thing i dont want is forceps, neverhave liked the sound of things like that, so if it comes to a stage like that i will just ask for cs. But it shouldnt do, hes been a good boy throughout this pregnancy apart from lungin at my hip lol x

yeah I am very scared of needing forceps!

been here 2.5 hours so far and still waiting for the doctor so nothings happened yet! got a bed etc though and everybody seems nice and friendly and helpful which I find a massive help! ward seems all nice and clean and possibly recently refurbished as it's all much nicer than wards I've Been to before.

feel calmer today. Was in tears last night as I was just panicking about it all! think it was just because I felt so clueless!

well 3 days on and I'm still here, still pregnant. was induced yesterday morning by the pessary which brought on contractions and last night we thought we were getting some here as was contracting every 3-4 min. then they all stopped. Sad had pessary removed this morning as it was up to 24 hours. now awaiting a bed on labour ward where they can break my waters. very fed up now and missing my little ones. Sad

I've had the same tedious waiting with both my inductions (both at 38weeks with gd). Both times delivered without intervention within 8hrs of breaking waters/syntocin starting though. Also, having done one with and one without epidural I would recommend having an epidural once the syntocin is up and running.

I was induced in April at 37 weeks, it was a great experience. I was panicking as a lot of people said to have an epidural as soon as they started the syntocin drip, but in the end I didn't need it. It was a great birth, I was able to stay up and active and moving until shortly before I started pushing!

(I had the waiting too! 60 hours from first pro-pess in, to finally being moved to labour ward)

I think that must make a difference moomin as I had so many lines in that, along with the monitoring, was really stuck on my back. I did manage without epidural second time round (asked for it then dilated from 4-10cm in about 15mins) but it was so much better first time round with the epi.

Very true tarka. The tocograph didn't work on me so I was able to walk (and, once or twice, dance) in the delivery ward just holding OH and a drip stand Grin i think if I had been tethered to the bed, I'd havhave needed the epidural.

well still no further along. The pessary allowed me to dilate enough for waters to be broken and I have been waiting for that to be done since the pessary was removed Wednesday morning. Sad
a week of paternity leave wasted. A week separated from my children for nothing and I'm not even in labour. Sad

That is shocking 4. Have they told you they are unusually busy or is this just what things are normally like.
I found with both of mine that I was taken across to delivery late evening when the new shift started so hopefully they'll do it tonight.

really sorry to hear that. it was the worst bit of my induction too - I was told Wednesday morning they'd take me to break my waters. they finally did it Thursday evening. On the bright side, because I'd been dilating and contacting so long, her head was so low that labour was quick and pushing even quicker :)

Just think - soon you'll be holding your baby. that's the only thing that got me through the long waiting around stage. that and a lot of crying, I'll be honest!

You must be so frustrated 4 I had a really similar experience with my last induction just felt like such a waste of time. I really missed my children and just wanted to go home.
However you have done the worst bit now once they break your waters it will happen really quickly, you have to wait because you need to have a midwife who is giving you one to one care during an induction. They also know that once they break your waters things will happen quickly. You probably know all this already and I know it doesn't make it easier it's really really crap waiting, but you really are on the home stretch now!!
Hope everything goes well and hopefully you will be getting newborn cuddles by the end of the day :)
