Unhappy with royal surrey, anyone else?

Having my 3rd at rsch and really unhappy with them after having spent 7.5 hours there and being sent home. They took my bloods and then lost them, one consultant finally came to see me then had to leave to go to labour ward (he just told me he was going to put me on meds for hypertension), an hour later another consultant came and told me I was fine, didn't need meds and to go home!!! Really not amused at all. The midwife barely looked at me or in my direction even though I was in tears because I was stressing about what was (or wasn't) going on.
I had PIH with my first two so I'm not some neurotic mum, I actually have experience of this.
Feel like I have been fobbed off and not remotely cared for or listened to.

A friend of mine gave birth on Monday and would therefore strongly disagree. She had a great experience... Saying that I have opted to lie about my residence just so I don't have to go there, so I cannot say I'm surprised. I've picked Frimley just because I've heard it's a nicer place to give birth. Is it too late to change?

Not sure I'm 38+3, why did you not want to go to royal surrey ?

I had heard negative things about the level of care during and after the birth. Ive also heard the midwives aren't as 'nice' as the Frimley ones- especially for first time mums that need extra support and guidance. My parents live near Frimley and it's always had a great reputation for having outstanding doctors and surgeons. My sister in law gave birth at Frimley on the 6 th sept last year and had a great experience. Even my brother commented on how good the midwives were with her and the baby. I actually came clean with my midwife at the dr and told her I had moved out if the Frimley area, she said not to tell anyone unless I wanted to go to RS which I really don't- I think she even knows where i'm coming from! She just wasn't very explicit about it.

This is the message I received from a friend who gave birth on Monday:

I have been SO impressed with the amazing care we receive through the NHS- I honestly can't fault the care we received during labour (very hard work and scary but SO worth it) and through the 48 hours I spent in the postnatal ward, getting help with breastfeeding, nappy changing, getting him to sleep etc. I honestly would massively recommend the Royal Surrey maternity services to anyway- it's been absolutely wonderful

Hopefully it'll put your mind at rest even if you can't change

I think RS is great for unusual / non-normal deliveries but not brilliant at the relatively routine stuff, IYSWIM, based on friends' experiences.

I've been happy with them overall. I've spend several nights in there for various pregnancy related reasons and the MW's were very caring. DC2's birth was superbly relaxed, the MW really gave us time to bond with our baby before doing any of the weigh in etc. The other 2 births were harder but the care was still excellent.

The only thing I noticed was that they do get very busy (not their fault) so you do have to wait around a lot but I guess that's probably the same for most hospitals.
