Urgh, pre baby insomnia - anyone else?!

I had this with my first and I'm now 40+1 with second and haven't been sleeping again for the last week or so. Last night I managed 11-3.30am and it's been similar for a week or so. I'm so tired. I know people say it's good preparation for a newborn but I really don't need that, it's the worst preparation for labour and a new born I can think of!! I already have a 2.5yr old ds who still wakes 5.30/6am - I'm WELL prepared in that department!

Does anyone else struggle with this? Have you found any magical solutions?

The only thing that helped me was nappin during the day too, any chance you could get a bit of kip when our toddler does?
Hope baby arrives soon, good luck.

Yes, napping is one of my reliefs as well, although my DD is coming up 4, so a bit older than your DS.

If your DS doesn't still nap, would he stay sat on the sofa with you if you provided plenty of snacks, drinks and cbeebies? I have to admit this is my saviour of an afternoon at the moment, I get to doze for about an hour but obviously it depends on your child.

Other than that, I find myself in bed for 9 most nights, sometimes having a bath beforehand can help.

Oh, I am getting this. Two sodding hours it took me to get to sleep last night, and I'm only 33 weeks.

Do you have anyone who can take your DH for a bit? Do you have a partner who could do a few mornings?

The only consolation I can offer is that, the night before I went into labour with DD2 I slept like a log. It's like my body knew that it was time to stop messing about and recharge!
