Bath RUH experiences with c sec consultant

Well as the title reads really!

I have my app in 2 weeks with a consultant to discuss c sec. Had a section with my first as he was breech, have a feeling this one is too. I have been experiencing scar pain recently and continuing kidney infections so have to see a consultant. Anyone have any advice? I've read mixed reviews about the RUH consultants. Any stories please share!

Hi,

Which consultant? I know they try and encourage VBAC I don't know anyone who has been directly turned down. I have seen Miss Dunlop and Mr Walker in my pregnancies and both were very amenable to c-section if I wanted one.

2 Friends have had sections in the last 3 months at the RUH and couldn't speak more highly of the treatment they received.

Thank you for your reply!

Not sure yet, just had a letter saying Dr Porter or a member of his team.

I had great after care there with my first section. Just having real worries with my scar and am worried they are going to say no Confused
I get terrible pains at night, going to see my midwife tomorrow

Did your friends request a section or were there medical reasons?

I see Mr POrter for other gynae issues and he is fab, great beside manner, if you get one of his minnions you may have to press for a section but you are entitled to one if you want one. Look up the NICE guidelines so you know the facts, just incase you meet a stroppy one!

One friend has an elective, due to a difficult first birth, the second had one because she has had one previously, the first was with Mr Porter.

IMissSleep - have you had your app and how did it go? Also, how many weeks are you and were you offered the vbac classes? I had a cs last time and they want me to have a vbac this time but I have had no info on it whatsoever!!! Just wondering when all that happens??
