Just wondering really as i went into labour at 10.30-11 at night with ds and my dm said her mum had her and her brother at night as did she with me.
also noticed on mn that most women are going into labour at night or early hours of the morning.

So anyone go into labour in Asda during the day:-o

Most women do go into labour during the night. It's because adrenaline is making it harder for your body to go into labour.

Bright light, like sunlight, does make your adrenaline level to go up. Not as high as when you're panicking. But higher then when you're in dimmed light or in the dark. Like at night time.

My 2nd delivery that I had started at day time. I was at home. My son and husband were also at home. I did feel a bit of pain in the belly. I went to sit in front of the television to watch a film. Making myself as comfortable as possible.

The pain changed and I wasn't sure if it was going to continue. Then after some hours it was clear that I was in labour.
Someone came to look after our son and we went to the hospital.

With my first one the pain of the contractions woke me up at 6 am.
With my 3rd I woke up at 4am because my water broke. A bit later the contractions started and we went to the hospital.

I went into labour at 11 in the morning and had my baby in my arms at 3:30 in the afternoon on the same day! Thought I was dying!

Went into labour as Andy Murray scores his first points in Wimbledon final. Eight hours later sitting in the bath with DS in my arms and the student nurse telling me the score!

Yup, in waitrose. 9am.

Slowed down a bit then kept going, DS was eventually born at 7pm the next day.

DD however was a classic overnight labour.

I went into labour in the afternoon for my first and evening for my second. Laboured overnight with both, and my first was delivered just after midday, my second at just before 10am. My mum went into labour during the day with my brother in the day, and delivered a couple of hours later.

StitchAteMySleep Sun 07-Jul-13 10:29:39

Dc1 contractions started around 5pm, born the next day at 4.35pm.

Lost my plug at 3:30pm, waters went at about 7pm, dd born at 8:41!

Was an amazing experience (home water birth) so whilst the ease of it should reassure me that another time would be ok, the thought of it being quicker next time, as most second births seem to be, scares the bejesus out of me.

No I don't Latin smile The call to say I was coming into hospital was interesting as it is 40 minutes away and I wasn't in labour at the point I rang them, I just knew that things were going to start soon. First contraction was as I reached the maternity ward.

My second labour started about 2pm while watching the French Open tennis final. She arrived at quarter to 7 that evening.

Sheesh, RantyMcRantpants, you don't hang about do you?!

My DC2, my waters went at lunchtime, but labour didn't start, and I was induced the next day.

DC3 labour started at about 5pm. (He was born at 9.45pm)

dinkystinky Sat 06-Jul-13 14:39:48

Both times for me I had midwife appointments for sweeps in the morning and both told me I was dilating and "in labour". But contractions/pains did not start in either case until the evening.

With DC2 I was very consciously thinking "wait until DC1 is in bed". Of course the little madam took forever to go to sleep that night! But once she was asleep....the contractions really started in earnest!

Both babies were born at dawn, give or take.

RantyMcRantpants Sat 06-Jul-13 14:38:24

DC1= labour started 7pm and born 10.45pm

DC2= labour started 8am and born 9.30am

DC3= labour started 11.25pm and born 11.55pm.

fiverabbits Sat 06-Jul-13 14:34:21

IShallCallYouSquishy Sat 06-Jul-13 14:33:52

So yep!

CitizenOscar Sat 06-Jul-13 14:27:58

Labour has started both times at night / early am but established labour last time was during the day (6am-4pm approx). So no dimmed lights & candles for me wink

mrsbugsywugsy Sat 06-Jul-13 14:26:02

nope, waters broke in the evening, contractions all night. stopped in the morning, started again in the evening and gave birth at 4am. I don't think my body wants to be in labour during the day.

BillyGoatintheBuff Sat 06-Jul-13 14:18:01
