Oh bugger - I've scared off my contractions by having a bath!

Am 41+2 had s&s yesterday, followed by a long walk, pineapple, prunes and sex. Woke this morning at 6.45 having pains. Tens machine strapped on, contractions every 7 minutes since lasting 40 seconds...got in the bath....stopped.
Bugger!
Tell me they'll come back as soon as I get my whale like body back on dry land!

Yes, they will come back.

Try doing a bit of digging light gardening, I found that worked for me. Wink

Yes! Keep moving. Keep on your feet, and go and sweep the yard!

Good luck!

My mum is a midwife and swears by walking up and down steps or stairs to keep contractions going. Something about the position it makes your pelvis get into!

Good luck!

Happened to me with dc2.... Went to bed in a proper grump, slept for a couple if hours and things kicked off again when I woke up.

Thank you Fenton - dd was 15 days late and induced, I have been weirdly enjoying my contractions this time Grin
I shall go and dig up the garden if that's what it takes!

Thanks all! My mw suggested baking a cake, but that only takes a few minutes...and then I'd have to eat it!

Oh, but be sure to wear proper shoes while your at it, not flip-flops. You don't want to go to the delivery suite with muddy feet. Hmm

Good Luck Smile

I can't reach my feet to put on anything other than flip flops!

You'll be needing that cake for after the birth!

I have opted for cake making Grin
We now have chocolate brownies, banana and golden syrup cake and a huge pile of scones - I have told DH that if I have the baby today he is to bring the scones into the hospital tomorrow with a huge pot of clotted cream and jam for the midwives Grin
Contractions still haven't come back properly - I maybe have had five in the last three hours...have been for a short walk to get an ice cream and stood in the petrol station trying not to look like I was having a contraction Blush

Be careful OP. Mine were on and off for DC2. I picked up DS from nursery trying not to show I was having a contraction and then had DD just over an hour later. When they kick in it could be quick!

Oo thank you MumbleBag - gives me a bit of hope!

My contraction were all over the place and really irregular for hours in end. I cooked and ate tea about 12 hours in Grin

I got in a mass panic on arrival to hospital as they stopped enroute and I thought I was wasting their time but turned out I was 9 1/2 cms!

I hope you get your baby today Smile

Bugger...apparently they can also be scared off by midwives and hospitals. They were coming along nicely, every five minutes, went in, sent home Sad
Having another bath...that'll show 'em!
