pain in wrist/arm following syntocinon drip

I had a syntocinon drip to speed up my contractions. It's over 3 weeks now since i gave birth and the pain in my wrist where the drip was is getting worse, now spreading up my arm too. Doctor says nothing they can do and it "should get better". Anyone else had experience of this?

Is there any redness in the area?

It could be that there is an infection, but that it needs to come 'out' IYSWIM. Like a spot, it might start as a colourless bump then get red and angry. Have you had any temperatures? Is the area hot? Is there any numbness? Unfortunatly infections from line sites are quite common. Keep an eye on temp and maybe measure width of arm to keep an eye on swelling. Was it swollen when you saw GP?
