Changing hospital late in the day?

Hi I previously thought I would be having an ELCS at Barnet on 7th June. Turns out that due to extensive building work on site they are now only booking one ELCS a day, not three as previously, and I may have to transfer to Chase Farm at short notice or come in several days in a row hanging around obviously not eating, hoping they eventually get to me.

I am currently 34 weeks. Is it too late to transfer to UCH at this point? Has anyone else moved late in the day? Suspect it would be ok for natural birth but maybe not for ELCS?

I told my midwife I wanted a homebirth at 36 weeks pregnant. It involved changing the 'back up' hospital & it was certainly not too late then.

I think you can change whenever you like. Have a chat with your midwife

It's more the ELCS that worries me- might be too late for that to be changed

Never too late. Not sure where you are but you can self refer to the Whittington (in archway). There's an on line form and you can call them first. Google them. You don't need to be in haringey to go there, I'm in London Borough of Barnet.

Whittingtons website says not after 34. It's UCH I want. But only if they can give me certainty as to a section date! That's what I want to move away from Barnet to avoid- this all stems from the nightmare I am currently having at Barnet!

I changed at about 36wks last time, no issues at all. I just asked my mw and she sorted it all.

Were you booked for a section?

Thanks all for your responses. As thought its just too late in the day for me to change hospital. This is purely because of my need for a CS...
