Anyone else feeling run over by a bulldozer?

Hi all, I'm nearly 38 weeks with my 2nd baby, been running around like mad till recently.. well not that I had much energy, but what can you do if you have a toddler! A nap would usually do it. But the last few days it's been worse. Like today I lasted literally 2 hours after getting up, then all I could do is plonk into a chair and stare into space Angry of course poor DS senses that I'm not full on and is all the clingier and naughtier for that Sad

I dread to think what'll happen if I go into labour exhausted! Although the thought of sleeping through it is kind of appealing Wink

Any ideas how I can get my energy up?

My sympathies Turquoise! I've no magic remedy but try to eat little and often, make Cbeebies your friend and see if there is someone who'll take ds for a couple of hours.

If it's any help, a newborn and a toddler is soooo much easier than being heavily pregnant with a toddler (and I say that as someone who had a section and dd in SCBU).

Not long to go, so hang on in there and good luck with your new little one.

thanks :) he's out reeking havoc in the garden at mo, not sure how long he's gonna last!
DH helps a lot, but he also works 24/7 so there are often times he needs to be rid of DS!
I was fine last night, but now feeling spent again Sad must be some sort of a mid-morn to mid-afternoon malady!
Hope your DD is better now, best of luck!

I know how you feel and I'm only 32wks. With work, ds, dh working long hours and running round after sick relatives I'm exhausted! I'm also measuring 4 weeks over my dates and spd is killing me.

I said to dh this morning I felt like I'd been run over by a truck. Your not alone!

I hope your little one comes sooner than later Thanks

Oh dear cupcake, you sound worse off than me! Hope you're going on maternity leave soon, at least one thing less to worry about!
I was feeling like this THEWHOLEOFTHEFIRST_TRIMESTER with DS, but no one to look after then, just work, so I managed.

Hope your measuring big turns out to be just "one of these things". Have you had a scan or anything to rule out potential problems?

I was measuring 3-4 weeks too small at one point but luckily all is well, the baby must have just been lying funny.

That's being pregnant for you. Maternity leave starts in 3-4 weeks so as long as I keep going it will be ok.

You haven't long to go now and hopefully your labour will be easy going and baby will be pretty straight forward.

I felt exactly like you a couple of months ago before dc3 was born. I was so exhausted and had no energy and was very emotional on top of that. But when you go into labour the adrenalin kicks in and gets you through it all. And then it's over - hooray! And you get to meet your baby and start the journey towards feeling normal again.
