My c section scar really aches :(

My baby as born by section 6 months ago. I recovered quickly and was back to normal in a couple of months.

I've been going to a post natal exercise class for 3 months and this week we did our first full on, intensive cardio session. The scar area, and deep muscles have been aching and sore ever since. Is this normal or something I should get checked out?

my C-scar was still sore/tender 8 months after birth, which is not uncommon, and it wasn't due to exercise! Smile

if the are is sore with a constant dull ache it is probably just your muscles complaining, but if you have doubts get checked out!
any chance you can ask your instructor for advice, I assume she'd be very knowledgeable about such postnatal issues.

if you have any sharp pains or unusual tenderness suddenly or a cramp or bleeding or a fever I'd go to A&E asap to check that you didn't rapture the scar.

remember they surgeon stitched up 7 layers of skin (including uteral wall) so you could be bleeding within these layers.

having said that, you are probably ok - take it easy for a few days to see if it gets better.

Thanks, I'm sure it is just my muscles complaining after so long without exercise!

I'm 9 months post-CS and if I do any cardio/exert myself it still hurts. It sucks, but you're not alone. Flowers
