Does anyone have any experience of these two consultants at Queen Charlottes? It would be great to have some feedback!
Thank you in advance Wink

Mr McCarthy delivered both of my children and he is wonderful! Calm, knowledgable and always happy and willing to reassure you and hear your thoughts on things. Both my births were vaginal with an epidural and McCarthy was efficient and really supportive. If I have any more babies I will make a beeline back to him! He's also head of obstetrics so when he says jump his staff say how high? Really helpful when one midwife was ignoring my complaints of needing the loo, McCarthy came in examined me and sharply told the midwife to stop ignoring me and help me to the loo and give me the suppository I had been literally begging for!!! Good luck!

Thank you for reply. I've since read some positive stories on McCarthy. Such a big decision though! Will appreciate anyone else's experiences Shock

Professor Bennett delivered my DS (C-section, after he picked up a possible problem with the baby at 37 weeks) and I can't recommend him highly enough. He is straight to the point and explained everything so clearly at what was a rather scary time for me. I felt totally reassured during my unexpected c-section with him and his fantastic team, and they told me every step of the way what was happening & how things were going. He also carried out what I think they call a "natural" caesarean ( I think there is a video on you tube about him & the procedure) - which was actually a good experience, and I recovered very easily (went home after 2 days, no pain afterwards, & up & about within 5 days - plus minimal scar now!).
Anyway, I would highly recommend him. PM me if you want more info.

I would be very interested in your experience/opinion about Mr McCarthy if you decide to go for him Vera! I am booked in for QC, I have placenta previa (low lying placenta) and he will be my doctor if things don't change. I'll be seeing him in late March probably. I have to say I've only heard great things about him and about the whole team at QC. I am sure both of them will be great, it depends which personality would you prefer. When are you due?
