What is a show like?

Just asking, because I'm not sure what it should look like. I thought it would be substantial but this morning I had some light brown, like old-blood-type discharge, and that was it...

have been having some practise ctx and shooting pains and so on, MW says baby is only 2/5 palpable now, so right down there and I'm walking like I have a watermelon between my legs.

I just don't know if this would count as a show or not. Probably not but humour me as I have had enough!!! Smile

My show was small, snot like with brown blood bits in. Not very much though.

Later in hospital I passed the proper plug which I can't clearly remember but was much more.

After I passed the first little bit my labour kicked off properly (had been having contraction pains every 30 mins for 14 hours, had show and was at 3-5 min contractions 2 hours later.

Fingers crossed it's your time and good luck!

Thanks, Oreo Smile

See it wasn't like very thick stuff - just more of a staining on the pad iykwim? But quite brown and normally it's just creamy.

I can't work out what is Ctx and what is just pressure in my poor old pelvis at the moment - pain is pretty consistent.

Well I guess I'll find out soon enough!

Mine wasn't thick either, I imagine there is a bit of variety from woman to woman too.

My early labour pains - pre show were like perios pains. I did the supermarket shop, cleaned the house etc - so in no way debilitating, just uncomfortable, then increasing to painfull.

After the show they started to hurt - a couple of hours later they hurt a lot!

It is an old cliche but you will know when they do get going!!

Try and get/keep moving around that will help get things going if it is the start.
