I had an episiotomy nearly 11 weeks ago. Since I stopped bleeding I have had a brown watery discharge which is a bit smelly. My baby girl has had oral thrush but I'm not itchy or in pain. Has anyone else had this? If so, did it stop? Is it normal? I'm combination feeding.

Could be an infection within as it were rather than from your stitches etc. I had continued discharge at my 6wk post-natal check & the GP prescribed antibiotics. Get it checked out.

Also think could be infection. And it could be coming from the episiotomy wound itself. Try & locate w a tissue whether it's from inside or the wound. Ask for a swab to be taken, so they can give you the most effective antibiotics, although they may prescribe a general one for the meantime if it needs it.

Thanks! It looks and feels like it is coming from inside but I suppose some of the wound is inside so it's hard to tell. I'll phone the doctors tomorrow to see if I can get it checked out. I'm seeing a consultant at the hospital later today as I have had problems with the other end of my wound gaping still but I don't think that is something he would check. The discharge is definately not coming from that open wound as I have checked. It is coming from inside somewhere. The things we go through!
