Doula/private MW for VBAC? Recommendations for London?

Hi all
It's really early still, but I want to have plenty of time planning this:
Previous birth was a horrendous CS. I'm really keen on having a vbac this time, and I think I'll need LOADS of support (professional, that is. DH is a star) to get through it (I can't have any form of pain relief other than gas&air for medical reasons).

so my questions are:

1. Has anyone here used both and can tell a little bit about their experience when compared?
   
2. Does a private MW really 2000£??
   
3. If so (ie- I can't afford it) can anyone recommend an amazing doula- NW London- that has experience with VBACs? (I know it's a long shot, but thought I'd try)
   
4. Last but certainly not least- I have private insurance which allows me to give birth and the Lindo (St. Mary's)- anyone gave birth there? any other recommendations for hospitals in NW/N/C London?

Independent midwives are quite pricey, it's true, but if you get an experienced one for what you need, they're worth their weight in gold! Invisble Midwives headed by Kemi Johnson are great and experienced with VBACs. If they don't cover your area, they may be able to suggest someone in your area who can help. Also, please bear in mind that many independent midwives are doing their job because they believe passionately in women being able to access the kind of care they offer. If you talk with an independent midwife and explain your situation, they may be willing to lower their cost or work out a longer payment plan or figure out a package of care that would cost less. It's worth a go! Sorry, can't help with your other questions.

South London Independent Midwives are outstanding and cover most of London. They delivered 2 of my babies, and the babies of several other mumsnetters. I can whole-heartedly recommend them.
