Anyone changed hospital very last minute?

I know if you went into labour in another town they'd take you at whatever hospital you were near, but...

Could you choose to go 100 miles away? Bearing in mind I'm 11 days over! I know this sounds mad but I'd much prefer to be induced elsewhere.

Hi yes I moved hospital about 2 weeks ago. I'm now 40 weeks. I just had to go to my docs and get a referral. They took me through a booking appointment straight away and I'm now much happier about where I'm giving birth now :))

yes changed at 38 weeks, ended up going to 42 weeks. They were marvellous (the Royal Free in Hampstead) & was very happy with the decision. Driving 100 miles does however sound like madness...

I did too. I knew i was unwell with DS1 but the hospital kept insisting it was 'first time nerves' they had made a few clumsy mistakes along the way so i was worried about the level of care anyway.
So myself and my mum jumped in the car and drove to the next nearest hospital where a consultant checked me over and told me i had severe Pre Eclampsia and had to be induced within a few hours!.
DS was born the next morning and was in intensive care for 2 weeks. I have since moved but will be going to the same hospital, the midwife said that was fine,as long as i was happy.

I changed at 36 weeks to a hospital 60 miles away. You will need a referral letter. I was so glad I did as my local hospital was awful and the care I received at my chosen one was so much better which made me less stressed and less stressed mum equals a happier baby!
